Diaper Sampler Package Reviews (5) Write Review Rating: [3 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Tamara on Sunday 25 July, 2010Let me first start off by saying that I am glad that the company offers a way to try different types of cloth diapers. I do believe a little more information needs to be added to the description for those starting off with cloth diapering though. I ordered the size large package to be shared by my 25 lb- 10 months old and 30 lb- 2 year old, just to give you an idea of sizes.
Happy Heiny Diaper-This is the largest of the diapers which is wonderful for those babies that are on the chunkier side. Although this is truely just a pocket diaper, almost like a cover. So you will need some thick inserts to make this absorbent and usable.
bumGenius Diapers are great as well. One is an AIO diaper with a pocket if you need to add extra inserts but, the padding in this diaper is already thick enough for at least day time use. The downside is the drying time takes a bit longer. The other bumGenius is a pocket diaper and you will need to stuff it with inserts. I love the colors and stretchy tabs on these.
Little Beetle-True to its name. I received the size 2 which is for babies 18-36lbs. It really is small in size. So I would steer clear if you are buying for a tall toddler or chunkier baby. This barely fits around my baby and the rise is really low. I like a diaper with a higher rise on my babies so that I know they are protected from leaks. I would also like to add that this needs to be worn with a leak-proof cover at all times! I know this is not mentioned in the description. I don't see why companies make cloth diapers in cute colors and designs if they just are going to be covered up.
Kissaluvs Contour- A step up from a prefold. This has an extra bit of padding sewn in the wet zone but, you may need to add more and always needs a diaper cover and a snappi.
Kissaluvs Fitted- Hard to fiddle with the snaps with a wiggly baby. But is is a nice diaper if you prefer the snap closure. I always have to lay extra inserts in this (no pocket) because it is thin and you will always need to use a cover with this.
Cotton Babies inserts are awesome. They should add a few more inserts to this package though in order for some of the above mentioned diapers to be absorbent. The Prowrap is okay but, I had also ordered a thirsty cover and that is designed with a much better fit and a little stretch, so I prefer the thirsties cover. I wish they would include a thirsties cover in this package instead. Rating: [3 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Christina on Tuesday 14 April, 2009 I was not sure what kind of cloth diapers to purchase so I went with the sampler package. There was a nice variety, but wish I would have just gone with the Bum Genius instead. Out of all of the diapers in the sampler it was the only one that worked for my little one. The little beetle was nice, but needs a diaper cover. The website does not mention this, so just a heads up. I personally do not like the covers so that is the reason I am not leaving a great review for the little beetle. All of the other diapers in the sampler leaked and really caused a mess. I have since stock piled Bum Genius 3.0 and love them! It has a wide variety of types of diapers to try out to see what works best for your baby. If added to a prefold package, such as the Just the Basics package, it's enough diapers to diaper for about 2 days. Just add some wipes, a few doublers, and a wetbag, and you've got a complete diapering package for around $200! Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Jen on Monday 30 July, 2007 Before buying the sample package we were looking at buying the most expensive brand because we were expecting that to be the easiest for us...but now we know what works for us - and we are going to save lots of money! Our baby is really sensitive and cries when she is wet (no matter what - and real tears!), so being able to test run the diapers helped us out tons! Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Stephanie on Sunday 15 July, 2007 I just love this idea.. I got to try several different diapers on my little monkey! We found some work really well while others just don't fit our girls chubby legs. We figured out what diapers we want to buy more of. Thank you cotton babies for making this choice easier!
