Cotton Babies Verified Purchase After cloth diapering 3 boys I know now the best is Bum Genius! Never failed me. I have tried many, many diapers, systems and combinations. This is by far the best diaper. It holds up, never leaks, and looks great years later. Perfect for the diaper bag, over night diapering too. LOVE! So, now that I have been using these diapers for over three years, I just wanted to share with cloth diaper-searchers out there, that this is the diaper they should pick! I am using the diapers on my third baby now and they are still going strong. In the first year, hardly ever a leak. In the third year, they pretty consistently leak a little out the sides on the newborn. It is very little and doesn't bother on a newborn since I change his onesie with spit-up every time I change a diaper anyway.
They are very reliable. The velcro kind (hook and loop) do wear faster and I have to put pants on my baby to get them to stay on. But the snap version is excellent. I have saved so much from getting these diapers. I spent about $500 on cloth diapering three years ago and I get disposables for travel or nighttime wetting with my older toddler (the old version doesn't fit the bigger kids well). I am glad I purchased them. I have had a lot of cloth diapering success! Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!]

Cotton Babies Verified Purchase We have been useing these diapers now for 6+ monthes. We loove them! At first CDing was abit scary since only 1 other family we knew at the time used them, and reccomended these. I tried others as well but we ended up getting rid of them and getting more 4.0's. Our daughter blew out diapers left and right when we used disposables, and we found only one brand that didn't give her a rash. She hasnt had a rash since Cding. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!]

But could just be how im stuffing it. my toddler (17 month) daughter loved being put in one of these for the first time today. So far no leak and he's been in it 2 Hrs. When i was pregnant I decided right away to do cloth diapers to save money in our house and my neighbor was already using this style. However I initially ordered the freetime diaper and after 1 use realized they were far to bulky on my newborns little booty and skinny legs. I immediatly sent them back and exchanged them for this style due to the fact that you can stack/unstack the inserts to suit your own absorbancy needs and reduce bulk. love love love them! After trying a few other brands we discovered very quickly that these were the absolute best diaper! We have not had any leaks, they are not too bulky, they are soft, easy to wash and come in cute colors! Cotton Babies Verified Purchase We've been using these since they first came out with 4.0 version; I currently diaper a 2.5 year old and a 13 month old with these and have sampled many different cloth diapers. They are my favorite diaper by far. Yes, the stuffing (and unstuffing when they're poopy!) is kind of a drag, but being able to adjust the absorbancy with different inserts is the most effective way to cloth diaper if you're not going to use a prefold + cover. These diapers never leak; they are dry against the skin; they fit young babies, older babies, toddlers, and up; they have held up to at least twice weekly washing for two years for me. My babies can't undo the snaps. They don't cut into skin. They are cute. I could go on . . . I also use elementals, which I like, but aren't as versatile for different size/age babies and fall apart more quickly. One last note, if you want use diapers for multiple years/babies get the snaps, not velcro! Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!]

Cotton Babies Verified Purchase I'm reviewing these again because I just can't say enough great things about them! We started cloth diapering my second son a year ago (he was 14 months at the time). My daughter was born 6 months ago and we've been cloth diapering her almost from the beginning--just a few weeks of disposables. I still feel the same way about these diapers after a year; they're so wonderful and they hold up really well, too. I did have to replace the hook-and-loop closures on the original 12 I bought, but they lasted 8 months without needing to be touched. Now we use the snaps (and we're still using the hook-and-loops), and I still really like them. The only thing I would make a note of is that you will probably have to alter your washing routine slightly as their poop changes. We started with a child who was having solid poops--these came out clean quite easily. Then we began diapering a breast-fed baby months back and I found those to be much harder to get completely clean. There are days that I need to give them a third wash. We came from using the cheapest possible disposables and moved into using the 4.0's (some of the pricier ones out there) and it is COMPLETELY worth the switch! It's still far cheaper to have to wash the diapers in three cycles a day then to use disposable diapers and wipes. If you're just not sure, I say go for it! Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!]

We have saved a ton of money on diapers. We had 3 kids in diapers at one point, (down to 2 now thankfully!). We don't have any issues with leaks. I have found that if I line with fleece liners, baby bottoms stay very dry. Only time I have leaks is the morning, as my babies sleep 12 hours or so. I double up with hemp liners and that helps some. Diaper rash is gone. I must say that I still have a hard time with cleaning poopy diapers.... but I'll get over it. I purchased the snaps, and while I liked them at first and thought they would last longer, they are harder to use on a wiggle worm, and when they are in between sizes. My husband can't seem to get them tight enough. So I am going to be buying another dozen in velcro to supplement. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!]

Cotton Babies Verified Purchase I have two children--my first one wore disposables until he was potty trained, the second one wore disposables until a few months ago. When we found out we were expecting our third child, we decided to give cloth diapering a try on our second son to see how we felt about it. After months of using the 4.0's, the verdict is that we LOVE it! I'll admit that it's a bit disheartening when the inserts start to get a little dingy looking, but what can you expect when your child pees and poops on them every other day?! The sun does an excellent job getting them nice and white, and the outers never stain. We only have leaks at night...our son is a VERY VERY heavy wetter, and even with the doubler, we just can't seem to keep his wetness contained (though it's not every night, so it's still cheaper to wash his jammies than to buy a small amount of disposables). Other than that, we haven't had any problems. My husband and I both agree that it is not ANY more burdensome than changing a disposable...the poopies take a little more effort, but changing poopy disposables is not exactly fun, either! Plus, I think parents get this idea in their heads that every diaper you change is poopy--not true. Most are just wet. Also, with this deal, it probably takes about 4-5 months to pay-back your investment when comparing to the price of disposables. I was afraid of allergies to disposable with history of it in my family so had decided early to cloth diaper. ( after 9 years of research I decided on BG). I have 21 diapers and wash diapers about every other day now. ( we also travel quite a bit through the summer and I have used cloth diapers while traveling as well. (hint: double stuff a diaper for long trips))My daughters clothes fit fine over the diaper (some bottoms I had to go a size up when she was younger, but not now) I used Arm and Hamer clear originaly and now use Nelly's to wash the diapers in. By the way, my husband also absolutly loves these diapers. They are easy enough for him to change and to do the laundry. I love the buy 5 get one free offer. That is how I got most of my diapers. These are the only ones that fit my baby's small thighs. She is almost 2 months old & the other diapers just don't work well & have come darn close to having blowouts. I LOVE how easy it is to remove the insert & clean the diaper. I have had the least amount of stains with these diapers. BumGenius diapers are so close to a disposable & almost as trim; definitely not as bulky as the Econobums. I just bought 12 more b/c I am so pleased with this diaper! Cotton Babies Verified Purchase I love the bumGenius 4.0 diapers. I originally started with a few 2nd from the one size velcro bumGenius but these are my go to diaper. I think they're easier to wash since I can just pull the inserts out and not have to worry about turning inside out and securing velcro to laundry tabs.

Cotton Babies Verified Purchase I have to admit, I was extremely skeptical about using cloth diapers. My sister lives in St. Louis and had several friends that uses and LOVES these. I did my research, and decided since I was going to stay home with baby instead of returning to work, I would buy 12 to try out and then decide if I wanted to buy more to complete my set. I could not be happier with these! We started putting these on my son when he was a month old, but really I think he could've worn them even sooner than that since we don't even have the waists snapped at the tightest setting. Washing them is sooo easy. I have not had a single leak and my little man is a heavy wetter all the time. I do double up at night and it works perfectly! Leaking was really what I was most worried about. Also if you have a squirmy baby like mine, still get the snaps if you want. My son squirms and wiggles constantly and snapping the diaper is still a cinch. I am so happy my sister turned me on to these and I will recommend them to every mother I meet. I rinse them out in the tub first and then do a load of laundry 3 times a week. I haven't had any stains.
