Very cute and love the fit for tiny newborn bums but with both of my DDs I had to wait 10+ days before I could start using them because they covered the umbilical cord or else rubbed and irritated them if I folded it down like they suggest. I was bummed when my first daughter started leaking for every pee at 5 weeks old (10 lbs) and customer service told me I just had a heavy wetter so we used disposables again until she could fit in the 4.0s. Now I'm finding myself in the same situation with my 6 week old 10.5 lbs daughter. Wish they had more absorbency so I could have used them longer especially since 10 lbs isn't big enough to fit in the one size 4.0s. You're better off just buying disposables for the first 6 weeks- probably would have saved me some money.

We used these diapers for our baby girl from birth (about 6.5 pounds) to just over 9 pounds with no problems. Once she hit the 9 lb range she started leaking through them. We doubled them up with a few cloth wipes for some extra absorbency and that seemed to help. She could probably wear these for a while longer, but since we already have BG Freetimes on hand we tried those and they fit her just fine! I love that these are affordable and allow you to cloth diaper your baby from day one! We didn't have any issues with these bothering her cord stump as I have read in other reviews. All in all, I am glad we purchased these as they allowed us to cloth diaper our baby immediately and served us very well for the first six weeks of her little life! :-)

LOVE these newborn diapers. They are the best! Easy to use, great size, very easy to clean. Never had any leaks and they hold in breastfed baby poo explosions better than ANY disposable we've ever tried. Saved a lot of outfits that way! And the Growing Up in Cloth program made it affordable to use the newborns then switch to the 4.0s, which we also love.

My daughter was only 5.5 lbs when she was born but we were still able to use these. The main reason i ordered these was because i thought it would be low rise. But They did rise up way above the bellybutton so we had to fasten in really loosely. It irritated her umbilical cord a little bit.. but not too bad. They still rise above her belly button now and shes more than doubled her birth weight. also.. the first 5 or so washes.. check the laundry tab cuz some of the hooks and loops get stuck on it. I found it out when I put one on my baby without checking and she screamed out in pain before I could even fasten it. Leaks dont happen as long as I change her every 3-4 hours during the day.. But when shes asleep at night for six hours its fine. It contains her poo well.. we have had a couple blowouts.. but thats mainly due to her being silent as she makes a bm. I also realized that for some colors.. the lining pills--The blue one as well as the red one. The lighter colors like grasshopper dont. I follow the washing guidelines to a T.. only use the diaper detergent and I line dry them...but they look pretty worn (they still do the job) and ive been using them for less than 5 months (my daughters almost 5 mos old .. 12 lbs.. and theyre still a little too big) Overall I think the diaper is ok. Its nice to not have to deal with inserts.. and the hook and loop closures make changing fast and easy (although I prefer the snap). And when the elastic snapped on two of my diapers.. I just sent them in and they replaced them within a couple days. Its not the most absorbant.. and it takes about 24 hrs to line dry after washing. I have 24 newborns.. and I have to do laundry every 3 days. I would probably not buy these again because the main reason I got them (low rise so umbilical cord wouldnt be covered) didnt even apply.

We really liked these while they fit. Very easy to use and to rinse out the poop in the toilet. The downside is they rubbed the umbilical cord, so we couldn't use them at first. And our baby was 8lb 11oz at birth, so he outgrew them quickly. I really wish they made these in larger sizes, we haven't liked the all in one options nearly as much.

Rating:

I registered for these - hesitantly- due to all the bad reviews I read, but I'm glad I did. They fit our daughter and worked really well for us, once the umbilical cord fell off. I never had a leak. But I want to mention that we did change our daughter soon after she soiled, when she was first born. She had thinner thighs and I knew it would leak if I left on longer than needed. Once she filled in the diaper a bit better at around 8-10lbs, I was able to leave it on for night time changes, which we changed 2-3 times at night. They held better EBF poop better than a disposable. Now our daughter seems to weight about 12 or so lbs and the Velcro tabs fit too snug and are cutting into her thighs and hips. These are wonderful diapers and worked well for us, but I can see how others may not have liked depending on the shape of your newborn. We also washed as directed and air dry :)

I wish I bought more of the new born diapers! I only bought four because they were seconds. And I have no idea why. They fit so well, and I think its so worth it to have a diaper that fits when they are so small. I have the OS and its so big on my baby. My baby is 5 weeks, and I see her fitting into these for a few more weeks. Next baby I'm going to buy all BG newborn! I love them so much.

Rating:

Great newborn! 1. Great fit 2. Slim 3. Easy clean/quick dry My con, they only held up until my daughter hit 10 lbs and 12 weeks, then they leaked... Every time. But they claim to fit a larger size? Id still buy them again

I bought bumgenius AIO one size diapers via a friend recommendation about 4 years ago and they did not even last through my first child. I used the detergent I thought they recommended (arm and hammer free and clear) and air dried everything. I took really great care of my diapers, they were a huge investment. They have been nothing but a disappointment. After 20 months the velcro was worn out and I spent hours replacing it. After 2 years when my daughter was born, the elastic in the legs had stretched and the diapers were useless for her because there were gaping holes at the legs. These diapers have never held poop in well. Whenever my son or daughter have had a blowout everythign comes leaking out. I spent hours replacing the elastic in the legs, but they still didn't work. I was on the phone multiple times with the bumgenius company and they refused to stand behind their product. Very very disappointing. This is a terrible product. Should be called BUMSTUPID. My daughter ended up wearing the AIO with rubber pants over top to hold in the moisture. I just spent over $100 on new diapers from Motherease a recommended brand that has lasted multiple friends through multiple kids. I will never buy a single product from this company again. I am so frustrated!

I thought these would be a good option until the baby grew into our BG OS but I'm having major leaking issues. If I'm changing him every two hours I might be ok, but I don't want to have to wake him at the two hour mark just to avoid a clothes change. I'd say 50% of the time this leaks. If I try and use it overnight then I'm guarenteed to have it leak. I don't know if my baby's thighs are just too skinny but that seems to be where it leaks. He's currently 8.5 lb so definitely in the weight range for this size. I've used the other sizes of BG AIOs on my other two kids and never had such issues. Also, birth weight was 7lb and I really couldn't use these until his cord came off because the rise was too high. Luckily, I still have the XS BG bamboo fitted which I use with a flips or thirsties. Unfortunately, I don't think they make the bamboo fitted anymore. Very fittingly, as I sit here typing this review I'm holding my sleeping son and he just wet on me. Guess I'll have to wake a sleeping baby after all.

Best Newborn diaper! We tried Grovia newborn, Fuzzibunz Newborn, BG newborn, and prefolds/covers. I thought i would try and save money with just prefolds/covers but baby girl came early and was 5 lb 4 oz. BG fit when she was two weeks old (after her cord stump fell off) and still fit at 12 weeks (11 pounds). Great investment for smaller babies. If i had gone to term and she was 8lb or more, i might have just stuck wit prefolds. BG is great though because it is stay dry. Great for sensitive skin.

I purchased 12 diapers that were supposed to last the duration of diapering. I LOVED them at first but the velcro only lasted about two months before not sticking anymore. I am really disappointed with these. I would not recommend them. I have found another website that offers cloth diapers for 1/3 of the price of the BumGenius and I've been much happier with them and the snaps fit wonderful on a small baby. I think the snaps would be great but not the hook and loop. It's a design they need to change or have a better warranty on.

I really liked this diaper over my NB covers and inserts. This was the only diaper that fit well on my newborn (6lb, 9oz) at birth. If money weren't an issue, I would have just bought all BG Newborn diapers. Now my daughter is a month old and has almost outgrown it at 9lbs.

Rating:

These fit my daughter from about 5 days old until about 4 weeks old. She was 7lbs. 9oz. at birth. At about 4 weeks old they started leaking and wicking onto the clothes. I moved her on up to the 4.0's. She is currently 6 weeks old and still could fit her at her current weight of 10lbs. While I loved the fit, it did make me unhappy she couldn't wear them at least a couple months because of the leaking. I do not regret buying them because the one size diapers are not truly one size, and she definitely needed something for that month where she was too tiny for them. I just wish it was longer!

Rating:

My only complaints: The brand tag wicks pee out of the diaper onto my baby's clothes. The zinnia color bleeds badly. The laundry tab is in an awkward place.

Rating:

It was important to me to use cloth from the beginning, and with my husband being anti-prefolds, these seemed like the best choice. These diapers are just ok, they seem to fit well, however, my daughter started leaking out of them at about one month of age. The diaper would last an hour or two, tops. We have a nice mix of freetimes and 4.0, which we started using around 4-5 weeks of age. If I had to do it over again, would not purchase these diapers, i would use disposables or prefolds until the one size diapers fit...

Rating:

Starting using these right away on our 6lb 8oz newborn. Overall they're ok, but not great. They did not go below her belly button, so we had to substitute some disposables when her cord area was irritated. Now, at 3 weeks old and almost 8lb we are acing some problems with leaking. It mostly seems that pee leaks up her back when it's a 2nd or 3rd pee in the diaper. They're also loose around her thighs which may be causing leaking as well. they've worked great for poos though and washing has been no problem!

Rating:

I bought a couple dozen of the newborn diapers and am so disappointed. I wish I had just bought a few to test. They are cute and seemed to fit well but leaked from the very beginning. We pre washed as instructed, used the Bumgenius detergent and they still had zero absorbency. My baby was just under 8lbs and we used them for 2 weeks before giving up. They leaked constantly. One time I changed his diaper and as I finished he peed and it streamed straight out his back. We switched to the. 4.0s and have been extremely happy with them - zero leaking issues. Don't waste your money on the newborns.

Rating:

Don't bother calling to complain about the leaking. I read one report where the Customer Service representative was actually helpful, but that wasn't my experience. They told me my 6 lb baby was wetting too much for the diapers. If that's the case, I won't be ordering these or any bumGenius products anymore.

Rating:

Leaks, leaks, and more leaks! I wanted to like these diapers because they were so easy to use, but after only two weeks of use, they started leaking every time. We were so disappointed we decided to go ahead and move up to the one-size diapers we purchased for when our son outgrew the newborn diapers.

Rating:

I have really enjoyed these diapers and so has my husband. This is our first baby and, of course, our first experience with cloth diapers. We chose to use disposables until her cord stub fell of at two weeks, then we transitioned to these. With disposables we had several poop "blowouts" and lots of redness problems. Once we switched to these, all of that ended. We occasionally will have a leak of urine around the legs but not often enough for it to be a problem for us. Our little one is 6 weeks old and just over eight pounds, and we are still using these diapers with plenty of room to grow. She was 7 lbs. 6 oz. when she was born and is still pretty slender. Overall, we are very pleased with this product. washing is simple, and they air dry pretty quickly.

Rating:

I was very disappointed in this, as everyone raves about bumgenius diapers. Thankfully, I got this one free, so no money wasted. Both times I used this it soaked through and leaked onto my baby's clothes.

Rating:

Unfortunately these diapers were a complete disappointment. They were my first experience with cloth and I'm so glad that I gave it a second chance with the Freetime that I love! I had a 5lb 10oz baby and she didn't fit into these until 8 pounds although they claim to fit 6 pound babies. Even when they fit perfectly she could only wear them for an hour or two at best or they would leak terribly. They are made of high quality material and fit nicely once the baby is big enough but after cloth diapering successfully with the Freetime, it simply seems that their is not nearly enough absorbency to this newborn diaper.

Rating:

These worked great from 2 weeks to 6 weeks. Then they started leaking badly through the tag/stretchy tab area, so I am unable to keep using them. My baby was about 11 pounds at that point. I think they were a good purchase and I hope to use them with my next baby from birth. I think my little boy is just getting too big for them to be absorbent enough.

Rating:

I bought these and the kissaluvs AIO's for my newborn and the Kissaluvs were drastically better. My daughter was under 6 pounds when she was born so I had to use disposable until she was about 2 weeks old. The Bumgenius diapers didn't fit as well, didn't leave as much room for her cord leaked with both types of soiling. I had to use the California baby diaper rash cream after she was in disposables and while the Kissaluvs took it in stride, the Bumgenius diapers lost all absorbency and took a good 2 washes to get back to their marginal performance. These things are just terrible almost to the point of being nonfunctional. The loop velcro fro the laundry tag was a bit rough on about half the diapers I bought and I was concerned about it irritating my newborn's skin but the diapers never stayed on long enough for that to be an issue. Despite the claim on the FAQ that the diapers for the US market are made in the US, the diapers I bought were made in Egypt, yet another fail to add to the pile.

We bought 6 of these newborn diapers and supplemented with Gpants biodegradable diapers for when we were on the go. I love these diapers (I do not love Gpants, just the idea of them)! They are sooo easy to use, which was why I bought them in the first place. My daughter was born 9.2 lbs and although we also bought 12 of the 4.0 diapers, which says they are good for 8-35 lbs, they were much too big on her. They took up half of her body and looked ridiculous. From reading other reviews, I made up my mind to begin with thev newborn diapers and I'm so glad we did. Even though she was born rather big, she grew slowly. It wasn't until she was 12 weeks that we needed to switch to the 4.0's, because she began soaking through her newborn diapers overnight. She has always slept on her belly, with her tiny heiny in the air and the newborn diapers never leaked. I am so impressed with them and confused with why others claim them to not be resilient. However, every baby is different and grows differently. I have told many people of these newborn diapers and now I'm happy to say that we also love the 4.0's. bumGenius is highly recommended by me!

Rating:

I have to add to my previous review... at about 4 weeks, these diapers started to not hold much at all. My daugther would leak through one in as little as 2 hours. I change her about every hour when she's awake, but she sleeps 3-4 hours at a time, and would ALWAYS wake up with her clothes soaked. I don't know if this is because she sleeps on her belly, or because the diapers just don't hold much. She never leaks through disposables. I am not happy with the absorbancy of these diapers, although they are very cute, and fit very well. Unfortunately, if they don't absorb anything, they are kind of useless.

Rating:

i bought 6 of these to use for our newborn babe. every time she peed, it went right out the leg, and with every poo, straight up her back. we had stocked up on the bG aios before they were (sadly) discontinued. we stopped using the newborn size and moved up to the smalls and have not had a single issue since. she was 7 lb 12 oz so it wasn't a size issue - it's something about the fit of the newborn dipe. i wish with all my heart that they'd bring back these aios in ALL sizes!!!! imo: the best newborn dipe is the rumparooz lil joey.

Rating:

These claim to fit below the belly button, so you can use them before the cord falls off. This wasn't the case for us. But, now that her cord has fallen off, we use them, and they're great. They fit very well, and she fits in all of her newborn clothes perfectly. I was disappointed that they didn't fit before her cord fell off, but maybe her belly button was just really low?

Rating:

I tried using these for my newborn for her first month and sadly, had no success with them, whatsoever. I made sure to check for gaps around her legs and proper fit, but still had leak issues after she wore them for as little as 30 minutes. Basically every pee, she'd leak. I really wanted them to work, but I ended up selling them. These were the only bumGenius diapers that did not work for my baby, otherwise, everything else has worked PERFECTLY. Elementals make up most of my stash.

Rating:

Loved these for my newborn, so trim and cute. I only bought 3 of these and I wish I would have purchased more...enough to fill out a newborn cloth diaper stash. I tried out a bunch of newborn cloth diapers for my little 5lb 15oz man and really liked these.

Rating:

We couldn't use these until the umbil. cord came off. Now that our 8 day old has no cord stub, she wears these. We really like them! They look so cute too!

Rating:

i had 16 of these for my son and used them from birth at 8 lbs to 5 weeks at 11 1/2lbs. pros- super soft, never any diaper rash, very easy to use, holds just as much as disposables. i had some leaks but not many. cons- takes a long time to dry (two full dry cycles at least), velcro starts to wear after awhile. i plan to replace the velcro on the ones that need it and reuse them for the next baby! i would highly recommend these instead of using disposables in the early weeks. we really enjoyed them.

Rating:

Previously known as 'xsmall AIO' these are the best AIOs available for newborns, in my opinion. I buy a couple whenever I have a friend who will be cloth diapering a newborn. I used several on my own daughter from when she was 2 weeks (nearly 8lbs) to 8 weeks (under 9lbs). Looking back, they would have fit longer but I was excited that we got into our OS. The best part about these is that they fit before the cord falls off, saving you from using other diapers for those first few weeks. You can jump right into cloth diapering with these! If you have a skinny baby these will last at least for the first 2 months, maybe longer. They clean well and don't take all that long to dry once you get over the learning curve of washing cloth diapers. Super easy for dads and grandparents (or new moms who are sleep deprived and too tired to bother with prefolds). If/when we have our next little one I will be stocking up on these!
