I bought this detergent mainly because of the price. I have been CDing for 6 months and used Rockin' Green until now. Although Nellie's does get the diapers 'clean' I think it leaves quite a bit of residue behind. I didn't strip my diapers, nor did I need to, while using Rockin' Green but within 2 weeks of using Nellie's, the diapers reeked of ammonia. Also, my daughter developed a severe diaper rash that could not be cured, after stripping my diapers, and quiting Nellie's, her rash healed immediately. My daughter has VERY sensitive skin, thus our main reason for CDing. All in all, if you're CDing because your child has sensitive skin, this detergent probably isn't for you!

I purchased this to try another cloth diaper detergent out. I haven't had much success with any I've tried and this is no different. At first I was just using this with my 2 yr old sons diapers and for the most part the diapers would come out smelling ok and be clean. He was in the process of potty training so didn't poop too much and when he did we sprayed off most of it from the diapers so there wasn't any staining. Now I am using it for my 3 week olds diapers (same stay dry and econobum inserts I was using for my son) and my prefolds cannot get cleaned to save my life. I had no problem with breastmilk poop coming clean with my son but this detergent leaves stains on almost every diaper I wash. It is too cold to sun them currently so I am either washing the diapers two or three times or using bleach. Both make this detergent useless in cleaning my diapers or trying to save money. I would not recommend this product to anyone and back on the search for a decent diaper detergent.

My family loves this laundry soda! We started using it on all our laundry a couple months before our son was born, and we love the way it cleans our clothes. Everything comes out fresh and soft -- no need for fabric softener any more! -- and even the crusty armpits of my husband's undershirts have improved, as did the condition of our bath towels -- they are no longer rough and stiff. I did not hesitate to use this on our cloth diapers once our son arrived. We have had no problems with stink or repelling. My mom has even switched to Nellie's. And, you certainly can't beat the price!

Love this product!! My 3 month old has super sensitive skin and using BG diapers. We tried multiple detergents and this worked!! For her clothes and diapers I cut the amount of detergent in half and run an extra rinse cycle. I use it for the entire family to keep her face from breaking out into a rash when we hold her. Our clothes are softer and smell clean. Highly recommend this product for sensitive skin and cloth diapers!

TERRIBLE! We had been using All free and clear for a few months so I decided to try a real " cloth diaper" detergent. Yeah, AWFUL. After the first wash my diapers came out smelling TERRIBLE. I had to strip and rewash with free and clear...I only got ONE use out of a 50 load bag! What a waste of money.

I've been using this detergent for over 6 months now. We use mostly BG diapers and prior to using Nellie's they had started to hold onto the stink. Nellie's got rid of the smell and has continued to keep the diapers smelling clean. My son hasn't had any problem with a rash like some of the reviews have mentioned and he has fairly sensitive skin. I've been very pleased and would definitely recommend this product.

Love this detergent! I originally chose it because of the price but I'm happy with it. I have an HE machine so I use half as much and then half that for diapers! So if I were to use this bag for only diapers that's 200 loads or 100 loads for regular laundry! Absolutely great deal. I haven't had problems with ammonia or stink or anything yet and I've been using Nellie's for about three months. I have hard water, so occasionally I'll add about 2 TBSP of the Calgon water softener although I probably should use it every time. I did a very mixed load of towels and my baby's dirty onesies and it got the towels clean and all the formula spill and spit up out of the white onesies and got them nice and clean! I will buy this again.

This detergent made me and my son itchy. It did get the clothes clean though. I would buy the small bag before buying the larger tin.

I really like nellie's' cleaning power but it gave my daughter a terrible rash...it took me over a month of messing with creams and liners to realize that it was the nellie's residue. I always did two hot washes, using detergent in the first wash and washing around 12-15 dipes at a time....what went wrong??? :(

I was unsure how I was going to like the soap due to some of the comment about the "stinch" but honestly it's working great! I wash about about a dozen BumGenius 4.0's every other day and half of the scooper provided does the trick. I am used to regular soap with all the frilly smells but even with this soap things some out smelling clean. I've actually stuck my nose right in the middle of a diaper to do the test and no BM or pee odor is left! I don't feel like there is a negative odor at all and have even used it to wash regular laundry. I'm curious to see how long this 50 load pouch is going to last but I have a feeling it will be months before I need another bag!

I love this detergent. the 100 load can lasted me 6 months, washing every day in the beginning and every other now. it gets everything clean, even in our hard FL water. I have been trying other detergents the past 2 months, and I've never had stinkies worse, I am switching back to this ASAP. learned my lesson, don't fix what isn't broken! haha.

I've been using Nellie's for about 2-3 months now. I wash every 3 days, and it works awesome! No stinkies, and gets the diapers clean. Leaves no residue. Can't ask for much more from a detergent! We don't use it on our clothes though, because I did once, and it didn't get some food stains out of the clothing. It does great with diapers though... there is some staining from poo diapers, but what do you expect??! Just lay out in the sun for a bit, and the stain is gone. My daughter also has SUPER sensitive skin. We tried quite a few detergents before Nellies, and this one is the only one that keeps her diaper rash away. Also, CB is AWESOME for shipping my 2nd bag so quickly! I put in the notes when ordering that I waited too long to re-order and I only had about 3 more loads worth of Nellies. I ordered on monday and got the detergent on Thursday!! Thanx CB! You all are awesome!!

Overall I really like this detergent! I don't notice a funny smell to it like some other moms have. I do a hot wash with nellies, then another hot wash without (we go to the laundry room in our apts so extra rinses etc arent an option) to get any residue out. I've been using it for a couple weeks and washing every 3 days and I have no stinkies whatsoever. I like to add a scoop of Oxiclean free to the load every other wash. it really keeps prefolds unstained and BG's white! I've already recommended this product to several friends

Impressed! When I first started CDing, a few folks locally told me to use All Free and Clear and it seemed to work just fine, but I always wondered if there was something better out there. I tried Nellie's and now I wash everything in it. I am not a fan of all the fragrances that are in commercial detergents, so this is perfect for my family and my diapers! I don't seem to have the issues that some of the other mama's have with stink or build up. Maybe has to do with where I live and my water system? Have been CDing for seven months now using mostly BG, a few HH, RaR and Thirsties all washed in Nellie's.

I loved this detergent when I first started using it to clean my diapers, so much so that I started using it for all of my family's laundry. However, my daughter soon developed severe eczema...which we ended up linking to the switch to Nellie's. As soon as I started "stripping" her clothes and rewashing in All Free & Clear, the eczema healed. We never had a rash in the diaper area, so I would recommend it as a diaper detergent...just be careful if you decide to use it on clothing.

I had stinks with my cloth diapers and was doing everything as I should with no luck...... ONE wash with a tablespoon of this stuff and they are clean and fresh smelling. I am sooo amazed. I am going to use it on all my laundry. I will be buying their other products too. Wow great stuff.

This is by far the very best laundry product I have ever used! I love it for all the laundry in the home. Works great for everything. This is the only way I can use cold water to wash towels with no smell. The smell of Nellie's is great it leaves clothes smelling like nothing at all, the only way to tell if clothes are really clean.

I bought this to use for the cloth diapers - but I love it so much I've started using it for everything. We have no stink issues when using this detergent, sometimes I end up changing a diaper just because I feel it has been awhile since the last change - there will be no smell but the cloth insert will be very wet. When I wash baby clothes in this I love that they don't come out smelling like perfumes, in fact there is very little scent at all which is great for me since I tend to have a sensitive nose and skin. I find this pouch size travels easily. I didn't think I'd like using a power, but now I can't imagine using another product. Another note: since so little detergent is needed for each diaper wash this pouch ends up covering a lot more than 50 loads.

This detergent is WONDERFUL! I adore it, it leaves diapers clean and soft. It has a nice, clean clothes scent to it, no artificial anything. No diaper rash on my son, who has sensitive skin, and no itchy skin on me! I would definately reccomend to everyone. Wonderful product.

I was excited to try this detergent, as it is so concentrated and meets the criteria for washing cloth diapers. (no enzymes, brighteners, etc.) Unfortunately, I was quickly disappointed. I've never had such terrible stink issues with my diapers as I had with this detergent. I used only 1/2 a scoop for a large load, which is usually recommended for washing diapers. The diapers started stinking right away. I then adjusted the amount of detergent and started using a bit more. The problem worsened. I finally had to strip my diapers and go back to Country Save. We're happy with Country Save and plan to stick with it.

I got this product to use on my bumGenius diapers. No baby yet but I started using it on our clothes too and it does wonders on my husbands muddy jeans. (Construction!) They come out clean as can be. I just wish they still had to 100 load can!

Rating:

I decided to try this because it had the best reviews (the least smelly problems) and so far it has lived up to the hype. I have always used very little detergent and no softeners or dryer sheets so obviously I am not worried about artificially mountain fresh laundry. I like the fact that you use so little because the bulk of the detergent is reduced just by the lack of additives. Less funk, less packaging, and hopefully no stinky diapers!

I love Nellie's Laundry soda! It works fantastic on my Happy Heiny diapers. I was concerned that the diapers would get stained up and smelly from breastfed babies stool, but Nellie's gets them clean and they do not smell at all! Also Nellies hasn't caused any build-up or repelling in the diapers. I am really glad that I found this detergent because the 50 load package will last a long time and it is much more cost effective than Allen's detergent. I will continue to use this product while I use cloth diapers.

This detergent is fantastic, I actually like it better than Allens and now I use it on my regualar clothes even though we dont have sensitive skin, I just like the way my clothes look and smell with it, highly recommend

I've been using this for the diapers, my clothes, and the baby's clothes (diapers separate, clothes together). Diapers are doing great (kissaluvs fitteds and prefolds), and my clothes seem cleaner than before. For example, my socks used to smell terrible and never seemed to really get clean, and my towels used to smell musty and mildewy after only one use. No more! I called the company about whether you should use 1/2 a scoop or a full scoop for the prewash, and they said use a full scoop. However, I've been using 1/2 a scoop with no problems and the scoop itself comes with a 1/2 way mark in it making it easy for me to anal retentively follow the "use 1/2 the amount of detergent in the prewash" recommendation. My only complaint is that the 120 load size is not available at this site.

I love Nellie's laundry soda! I use it on my Bum Genius Pocket Diapers. Nellie's is a great value, its amazing how little you have to use. I was very excited to find Nellie's at a store across the street from my husband's work. This laundry soda will be in all of my baby shower gifts I give. I found Nellie's laundry soda on all the online diaper detergent tables listed as a great choice, because it is free of the brighteners, softeners, enzymes, dyes, and fragrances that diaper companies warn will coat your diapers in a water resistant residue and give your precious babies rashes / detergent burn. I have been pleased, to say the least, at how well Nellie's works on my diapers. I was nervous about all the problems that can be encountered with cloth diapers and the seemingly "free and clear" detergents out there. Nellie's is helping me to protect my investment (cloth diapers can be a large investment). I'm confident I will get as many uses/washes as possible out of my diapers with this great product. Most all cloth diapers I have read up on advise using 1/2 the recommended amount of laundry soap for washing in a regular washing machine, and then for an HE washer it is advised to cut the amount in half again so you would only be using 1/4 the recommended amount. That means this pouch is a 100 load pouch in a normal washer, or a 200 load pouch in an HE machine! VALUE!!! and its a light little package, no heafty shipping charges like the big liquid jugs.

WOW! I wish I had tried this a year ago when I first started my journey with cloth diapers. I ahve tried all sorts of laundry options only to eventually have to strip the diapers because I can't seem to get the soap completely rinsed. This stuff is fantastic! My diapers are wonderfully clean and don't smell like anything. Yay!

So great my husband complimented it! The diapers are super clean and bright. Definitely getting the residue from the previous detergent (recommended by this site) out marvelously! Will order this again and again.

Rating:

I do not like the smell of this detergent. It does clean diapers well and it does seem to completely rinse out without any residue very well, however the smell left behind is not pleasant - it is not terrible, but I personally don't like the smell at all. I used it all up and then switched to Allen's Naturally Liquid. I like the smell of Allen's detergent much better.

This is wonderful laundry soap! Each load takes only a tablespoon, & it does not suds up. (Actually it can at first, it removes previous laundry soap residue). But it leaves the load smelling incredibly clean! It really removes odors, I live on a humid island where that damp smell is all around. Difficult for line drying clothes. This soap helps prevents that sour, musty smell in towels and cloth diapers. Even if I've forgotten them in the washer!
