On my lap, while nursing, in the middle of the night. My first little one took forever to fall asleep. She just filled her clean diaper, and I knew if I waited until she finished eating/fell asleep I’d be up for at least another hour.

Also have to add, trunk of the rental car in Skagway, Alaska in the middle of a meadow. 🙂

We were at a Red Wings hockey game, which if you know Joe Louis Arena, it’s one of the oldest in the NHL. Needless to say, not great facilities for diaper changing! They had a small “enclave” that had no doors and I was freaked about laying my son on those Koala baby plastic changing stations (I could almost see the germs crawling). Also, this was in the first few weeks of breastfeeding and I didn’t know about nursing covers yet, so I breastfed him standing up in there. I got more than a few weird stares!

The bathroom floor at Whole Foods!
They have a changing table in the bathroom downstairs, but just my luck that bathroom was out of order. So I took him upstairs thinking there would be one up there, but no such luck.
I think the worst part was that it was a cloth diaper, a blow out, and at least three other women came in and out while I was kneeling on the bathroom floor with my naked baby.

My mom and I were driving from WA to TX with my 10 month old son. We drove through Las Vegas to visit a friend and then drove over Hoover Dam. We were stuck in traffic forever to get over the dam and my son was desperately in need of a diaper change. As soon as we got over the dam, we pulled into a parking lot overlooking the dam and I changed him on the trunk of the car. The funniest part was that he started to pee and it was windy so he ending up peeing all over the driver’s side of the car. I laughed so hard that I could hardly change the diaper.

Front seat of our car at a rest stop. A squirmy baby and a blowout made for an interesting diaper change.

I once had to change her on my lap while in a restaurant. They had no changing table in the restroom and I didn’t want to use the table (yuk!) and no extra chairs. It was cold outside, so I didn’t want to change her in the car. What an experience! Took me several tries to get the velcro attached while she squirmed. The diaper kept shifting and it was super-challenging to get it on straight!

This past January my little guy was three and a half months old. We were flying home from LA to STL on a red-eye. Needless to say, a diaper change was in progress when the fasten seatbelt sign dinged and the plane began climb. I hope the entire plane heard my little guy squeal in delight as he started sliding. I hope I don’t have to change another diaper on a plane. 🙂

(I also changed him at church in the front pew.–His great grandmother would have my head if she knew!)

my tailgate of my truck after church in the parking lot…gets the job done but usually gets some looks and laughs as I wrestle my wiggly boy back into his diaper.

The craziest place I’ve changed a diaper is my 6-week-old’s incredibly poopy diaper on a park bench along a trail on the Grand Canyon. My brother used his baseball cap to block the sun from baby’s eyes; needless to say, we got a few strange looks from fellow hikers!

I’ve had to change a poopy diaper in the middle of no were with a car full of people and stuff (we were moving from WA to AZ) so I used the sun shade as a changing pad on the back trunk of our car. I think it’s worse when my potty trained little ones need to go and that’s why I bring the old trainer toilet along for road trips!

Newly adopted 6 month old – changed a blowout diaper on the concrete floor of a restaurant’s bathroom in Ethiopia. Icing on the cake? Bathroom that did not have running water working. Thank goodness for hand sanitizer!

When I was pregnant I stopped at a gas station. The bathrooms were full so I sprinted outside (as fast as a 8 month preg woman can sprint) and squatted behind the dumpster. Good thing it was hidden by a big wooden fence. If I would have waited one more min I litterally would have peed on myself.

A 6 month old in the front seat of my car because the backseat was packed with luggage. But really I’m not picky. Anywhere with a flat surface: a bench, a picnic table, on top of a lid on a big plastic rubbermaid tub. It all works!

On a bathroom floor because there was no changing table. I learned my lesson, though, and now if there’s no changing table, we go right back out to the car and change there!

No baby quite yet, so craziest place I’ve had to pee is out shopping because I hate using public bathrooms and rarely do.

My husband and I were hiking and or little lady was getting fussy, and of course it was because she has a very full stinky diaper. So there I was on the side of the trail between to ferns changing her diaper and another hiker’s dog came and POOPED 3 feet away from us. When you gotta go you gotta go!

My baby is only 6 weeks so my answer is the changing table at babies r us…trying to figure out how to hold her while tossing the wipe and putting the diaper in the wetbag was challenging but washing my hands while holding her was tougher!
