Cotton Babies Verified PurchaseI was bummed when my Velcro stopped working and dreaded having to replace it, it seemed a bit daunting. But then I found these kits! They were so easy to use, I replaced Velcro on 4 diapers in under an hour. And they are working great again! I haven't had to do the elastic yet, but am happy to have that for whenever I need to do it. Great product for a great price that made my job a lot easier!! Rating:  [4 of 5 Stars!]

Cotton Babies Verified Purchase Over all very easy to replace, even for someone who doesn't sew very often. Directions were very easy to follow. I didn't need the elastic yet, but glad to have it in case I need to replace that at a later time. Much like everyone else said I wish you would include the front velcro section. Cotton Babies Verified Purchase I have had to replace the velcro on all of my diapers, yes 3.0's and 9mos used 4.0's. I'm glad these cheap refresher kits are an option otherwise I'd be madder than I am. I am frustrated that I am having to replace the velcro, especially the "improved" velcro on the 4.0's that we only got 9mos out of. CB told me it was my fault, not theirs, but my diapers are in mint condition other than the velcro. I wash/dry exactly as CB indicates. I echo what some other users have said, I don't need the elastic, only the laundry tabs and PLEASE provide the front tab and instructions for replacing. Several of my diapers are completely unusable because this front strip is totally worn off. So much for "improved" velcro. I finally ordered my own and will be trying to figure out how to do this without ruining a perfectly good shell. I am a novice sewer and it takes me about 15mins to replace the laundry tabs. It's fairly easy, but not all that pretty in the end. I was hoping to resell my dipes when done with #2 baby, but someone will have to ignore the sewing of the new tabs. Overall, thanks CB for selling this, but it's too bad I have to do it on dipes under a year used. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!]

Cotton Babies Verified Purchase I purchased 8 of these to refresh some BG Elemental diapers we have, and I'm very happy with the results for the hook and loop tabs! However, the instructions aren't very clear for replacing the elastic... Not sure how I'm going to accomplish that. Also, the word 'diaper' is misspelled on the instruction card. Of course that doesn't affect their use, but considering that this is a diapering business it seemed like a pretty big no-no to make- makes them look very unprofessional! Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!]

Cotton Babies Verified Purchase I am so glad I found this kit. I have 24 bumGenius 3.0 OS that I stopped using because they leaked no matter what I tried. I was meandering through the cottonbabies website wondering what to do with all those diapers when I found the Refresher Kits and realized that what my diapers needing was new elastic, so I order the kits. I just finished replacing the elastic in one diaper (a fairly easy process) and there is an OBVIOUS difference in the diapers. Cotton Babies Verified Purchase I got 5 of these recently because I've been purchasing used diapers from here and well...in my last batch of diapers the loop strip on the front of the diaper has almost completely come off :( I really think there should be material and directions IN THIS KIT to fix that!! Cotton Babies Verified Purchase These kits are great and really do refresh the diapers - I have 2.0s that we used with my daughter, and the elastic had completely worn out. The velcro tabs had also curled up quite a bit, and although still functional, were no longer strong. We needed to revamp them for baby #2. I used everything in the kit - elastics, velcro tabs, laundry tabs - and the refreshed diapers look great. However, I found the instructions to be extremely confusing, and I would say I have intermediate sewing skills. I had to watch a video tutorial on Youtube to make sense of it. The first one I did took me about 2 hours, those seams are tricky! Once I got the hang of it it sped up quite a bit, now it only takes me about 30 minutes per diaper. Definitely worth it overall, but more of a time investment than I had expected, considering I have about 20 diapers to do... Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!]

Instead of throwing out my 2 year old's diapers when she potty trained, I simply "refreshed" them; now they're ready for baby #2! I used the elastic out of 12 kits to make 18 diapers like new again. Only the leg elastics were failing, so for every two kits I fixed three diapers. Here's how I fixed my 3.0s:
First, turn the diaper inside out. I used a seam ripper to open the seam where the old elastic was sewn in (just right at the point where it was attached, opening was maybe 1/2 an inch), cut the old elastic and tied one end of the new elastic to it. Next, I sewed the other end of the new elastic to the seam allowance where the old elastic was attached. Then, I ripped the seam at the other end of the elastic (once again, maybe a half inch) and used the old elastic to pull the new elastic through. Once the new elastic was through the gusset I untied them, sewed in the new and cut the old elastic on this end. They look pretty good and are WAY more functional.
I didn't need a sewing machine for the elastic (would have for the velcro, but I snapped converted mine). Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!]

Cotton Babies Verified Purchase These refresher kits are GREAT! WAY better than the velcro on the 3.0s, I am replacing my 3.0s as they wear out and they are good and sticky and soft and flexible too. Also they stay aligned much better on the tabs back to front when sewing them on. The 3.0 kind of velcro I used to always have to deal with shifting but these stay put. Cotton Babies Verified Purchase Awesome! The lady from cotton babies even sent me some for free when I inquired about these. I replaced the aplix on all 12 of my BG organics to get them ready for baby #2. Now they are good as new. I am so glad they offer these. I used a sewing machine and even replaced the front strip of aplix by opening the top of the diaper. I bought the front aplix from somewhere else. Cotton Babies Verified Purchase These kits are very easy to use! The hardest part was ripping out the seams in the old velcro tabs. My BG diapers are 2.5 years old and I just started using them for my second baby 3 months ago. The velcro was barely sticking anymore, but when I replaced it with these kits, the diapers were almost as good as new! Cotton Babies Verified Purchase My diapers are just over a year old and the aplix was starting to curl so I purchased some refresher kits to - well - refresh them. The seam ripping was much easier than I'd expected. The difficulty I encountered was in lining up the two pieces of aplix with the stretchy-tab in between. It's hard, without pinning, to make them stay in line prior to stitching. My finished product is a bit messy (the tabs are a little off kilter) but I got the job done.
The laundry tabs were a CINCH to sew on - the directions said to just sew them right over the old ones. piece of cake.
haven't tackled the elastic yet (no need), but plan on it when #2 comes along and these dipes need to be tighter. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!]

Cotton Babies Verified Purchase These are great! I am glad that I stumbled upon them. I love that the replacement laundry tabs are actually velcro as opposed to the stock material on my 3.0s. I think it will last a lot longer. I have been replacing the velcro tabs and laundry tabs a few at a time as I have found time in the last few weeks. I can't wait until they are all done! They look great! The front loop velcro doesn't really need to be replaced as it's still functional, but sure doesn't look as pretty as my new tabs.
