Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by brandi on Wednesday 01 May, 2013 Cotton Babies Verified PurchaseI ABSOLUTELY LOVE the freetime! They are trim, super absorbent, and wick away moisture so much that I hardly can tell my son is wet! I haven't used them over night yet, but during the day they are amazing!
I love that you can arrange the flaps in different ways and if one side has a stain you can hide it with the other side (haha). I also LOVE that they dry in a snap and ....well...they just ROCK! Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by samantha on Monday 29 April, 2013 Love these already. They are a great fit on my super skinny 2 year old, and much more trim than most diapers on his tiny frame as well. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Amelia on Tuesday 23 April, 2013 I love these diapers, these are the only cloth diapers I can say that about. I have never had problems with mold and we sometimes go 3 days between washing. I have never had a leak with these and my daughter ( a skinny legged, 3 mos old) has leaked with every other diaper including disposables. I also don't have a problem with drying, I hang them in my basement and it takes about 8 hours. I don't think that is too bad. I wash in the morning and they are ready that night. I need another sale to come around because I will be replacing my other brands of AIO and prefolds with these. My only complaint like others have said is that the velcro doesn't seem as strong as one of my 4.0's. It has not worn out yet but I can see how it will. I will just get the snaps with a new purchase. I hate to unstuff and stuff diapers so these are perfect. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Cassie on Wednesday 03 April, 2013 I really love the free time diapers. They are a little easier than the 4.0's to wash (you can just throw them in as opposed to taking out the insert and throwing 2 things in). Unlike other reviewers, I find spraying these off to be easier than the 4.0's, and these diapers have been able to hold in some pretty nasty poops! I have about half freetimes and half 4.0's and if I had to buy more, I would buy freetimes. Definitely recommend snaps over hook and loop- more durable. Rating: [2 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by paulina on Monday 01 April, 2013 I still don't Love these diapers. I have found that because of the construction of this diaper if I spray as soon as he has a bm and then put it in the wetbag, after sitting in the wetbag, and then hanging up all night to dry..I don't have an outside line, since the inserts are sewn on and stay wet so long and can't go in the dryer, they get mold on the inside of the inserts. And they're not sitting for over 24 hrs either, I wash every day! This is not good. I'm a germaphobe and now I have to wait until I'm ready to wash to spray them, and the spraying..omg..you've already heard about what a pain that can be! I've tried using the suggested amount of bleach in the wash, stripping them , and laying them out in the sun and still have some tiny mold spots inside the inserts. And this diaper leaks sometimes! I wish I had all 4.0 's. But I've already bought 6 of these. :( changing my rating from 4 stars to 2, BC of the molding and leaks. Rating: [3 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Kacie on Sunday 31 March, 2013 This is an update to my previous review from January 2012. I still like my freetimes BUT I don't recommend that anyone buy the hook and loop. It is awful. I followed the care instructions and my hook and loop just started to ware down quickly, even though I purchased 24 diapers for my son. I've had the tabs resown (about a year after my purchase) but now the front "landing strip" of the velcro are so worn they all need replacing. Cottonbabies doesn't offer that piece of velcro for sale and the instructions I received to replace it say to sew through the insert turning it into an "all in one" style diaper. The diapers don't even hold together and my son is in disposables until I can get them repaired as I can't sew a lick.
The diapers are awesome, but don't get the hook and loop. If you are trying to make an investment for not only the child you have now, but future children get the snaps. Rating: [1 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Natalie on Thursday 21 March, 2013 Most ironic product name ever. If your baby ever has a big poop in one of these you'll see what I mean. It took me almost 20 minutes to get it sprayed off and involved turning the flaps inside out to get the chunks of poo that had gotten stuck inside. I was just about to have dinner and I almost couldn't eat after that. Never again. This one will be getting stuffed in a drawer until I most likely end up throwing it away because I don't think I could, in good conscience sell this to another mom to have them go through the same horror. Biggest waste of $20 ever. I could kick myself for not just getting the 4.0 to begin with. I bought it on Amazon a little less than two months ago, otherwise I would be returning it. Rating: [2 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Rachel on Wednesday 20 March, 2013 Cotton Babies Verified Purchase When I first ordered these diapers, I was so excited for the all in one feature and the ease of just slapping them on my baby without having to stuff them first. But as we got more comfortable with our cloth diaper routine, I find these diapers to be annoying. Yes they are absorbent, but no more so than a 4.0 with the microfiber and newborn inserts. And yes, they are easy to use, but no more so than the 4.0. Really where this diaper gets me is the rinsing/spraying process; because it has two independent flaps sewn in on opposite sides, inevitably one flap flops over and splashes into the toilet and gets poopy water all over my bathroom. I have tried everything I can think of to avoid this problem, but to no avail. Also, because the flaps are free on one side, poop always gets on both sides, which makes spraying them even trickier. I have had enough, and finally sold all of my Freetime diapers, and switched to the new Elemental (haven’t gotten in yet) and the 4.0. I wanted to like them, but I just can’t. Rating: [4 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by paulina on Tuesday 19 March, 2013 I really like this diaper, but I don't love it as much as I thought I would. I like that everything is put together. I don't like how long it takes to dry. I also have a harder time getting it clean with the sprayer because of how it's constructed. But I do like it very much, and love the absorbency. I prefer my 4.0.s to these, but I have 6 of each, so they both get used equally. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by melissa on Friday 15 March, 2013 LOVE THESE DIAPERS! I even wrote to the company about my concern that she would become too tall for these diapers very quickly. However, very quickly, I realized that I was reacting negatively to what was actually a positive - the diapers fit just like her disposables. And disposables AREN'T one size. But these diapers, which are one size, fit like a glove, and if everyone who's experience I've heard so far is right, they're going to continue to fit like a glove. SO MUCH BETTER THAN DISPOSABLE! And actually much quicker and cleaner to change so far. I am very pleased. I just wish they came in more colors and prints! I bought 1 as a test drive and decided I liked the fit (for the most part kinda bulky on my 5 month old 15 lb girl) I love all the colors and the snaps seem to work better than others diapers I've looked at! So yesterday I went out and bought a 18 diaper package with diaper sprayer and a few other things! I came home and washed everything in the rockin green! first diaper, no problem then after her bath I put her in a new diaper and put her to bed! Woke up with no problem! Changed her and I loved how dry her bottom was after 13 hours in bed! Changed her and after about 2 hrs she had pooped I took the diaper off and she had a horrible diaper rash! It looked like after u have a blister and the skins peeled off how it weeps wetness! Well that's my daughters butt! It looks like a chafed chapped blistery rash with redness everywhere! Luckily where I bought them from is letting me return them for store credit! I am really extremely disappointed with the suede cloth bum genius uses! I M going to try the elemental hopefully it will work well for my heavy wetter! I can't express how disappointed I am with the free time! Rating: [1 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Taya on Friday 08 February, 2013 I'll preface by saying I've been using cloth diapers for 2.5 years on baby #1 and 9 months on baby #2. I loved my sized Fuzzibunz and BumGenius 4.0. I decided to order a whole new stash of 24 of the Freetimes with velcro closures for my 9 month old and I regret it so much. Fussing with getting the flap inserts just right when putting the diaper on baby is more difficult and time consuming than just stuffing the old BumGenius 4.0's. AND spraying the flaps off with a diaper sprayer in the toilet is a nightmare. Additionally, almost every time I take the diaper off of my little one, she has this awful rash all over her belly from the horrible design of this diaper. It folds in when she moves about and the velcro rubs her belly raw. :( I'm so dissapointed. This diaper has turned my husband (who was a hard sell in the first place) against cloth diapers. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Leslie on Sunday 27 January, 2013 Perfect fit, perfect thickness, perfect absorption. I have tried the bum genius 4.0 insert diapers before and they leaked and I hated to stuff them. I purchased the freetime because of reviews and videos off YouTube and I'm so glad I did! They are wonderful. Although the price is a little up there they are worth every penny! They work overnight-don't even need an extra insert or anything! No leaking or anything! They are great all day too! I never know when my son has pooped or peed (unless I can smell him). I'm 100% satisfied. And the best part is the fact that they are all in ones so its super convenient and literally just as easy as a disposable. I bought 18, my son is a year almost and this is a perfect amount. I did buy the 6 pack of inserts but have yet to need them. Maybe i will for a road trip or something. They aren't anymore bulky than any other bum genius in my opinion. I have tried many diapers (fitteds/prefolds with wool/cover, fuzzibunz sized and elite, hemp, cotton, etc.) and this one is by far the best. Never has my son gone so long in a diaper without a leak. I have put this diaper to the test and it has passed with flying colors... over 5 hours since his last change and no leak in sight. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Jessica on Friday 16 November, 2012 We love these diapers! We bought the 12 pack and got one free through a promotion on this site! They have been so great for our baby girl. 13 is all we really need.
The one-size diapers were a little big for her at first, so we used disposables for about 10 weeks until they fit her better and she wasn't swimming in them. Now she is 13 weeks old and they work great! The only issue is that they do make her clothes a little tighter on her. Some onesies and pants seem a little small now as we try to fit them over the diaper, but it's better than spending tons of money on diapers each month and sending all those things to a landfill!
What I love most about them is that they help her sleep all night. They absorb much more than disposables so she can go 8 hours at night. They could probably last even longer than that, but that's when she wakes up on her own so I just change her right away. LOVE these diapers and this site was great for us! Speedy delivery and everything was in perfect condition when it arrived. So happy with everything! View all 71 reviews |
