Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by melissa on Tuesday 23 April, 2013I wish I bought more of the new born diapers! I only bought four because they were seconds. And I have no idea why. They fit so well, and I think its so worth it to have a diaper that fits when they are so small. I have the OS and its so big on my baby. My baby is 5 weeks, and I see her fitting into these for a few more weeks. Next baby I'm going to buy all BG newborn! I love them so much. Rating: [1 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Sally on Saturday 30 March, 2013 This diaper simply did not work. We got constant leaks and after trying about 40 wearings, I gave up. We finally had limited success putting a folded wipe down first, but that defeats the whole purpose of an all-in-one. I am EXTREMELY disappointed that I spent my money on these. 1. Great fit
2. Slim

My con, they only held up until my daughter hit 10 lbs and 12 weeks, then they leaked... Every time. But they claim to fit a larger size? Id still buy them again Rating: [1 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by kellan on Sunday 20 January, 2013 Overall, I'm extremely disappointed with this product. I have used bumgenius 4.0 for two years on my older child and thought I'd try the newborn for my second child. I really don't like anything about this diaper. I have had problems with leaking since the first day I used them. They are also very stiff, which seems to make the fit awkward on a newborn. They don't fit below the belly button either, so you have to use disposables until the cord falls off. I actually just went out and bought prefolds and covers and they work so much better than these for a fraction of the cost. I'm very disappointed that I spent the money on these and they never worked. Rating: [1 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Miriam on Wednesday 12 December, 2012 I bought bumgenius AIO one size diapers via a friend recommendation about 4 years ago and they did not even last through my first child. I used the detergent I thought they recommended (arm and hammer free and clear) and air dried everything. I took really great care of my diapers, they were a huge investment. They have been nothing but a disappointment. After 20 months the velcro was worn out and I spent hours replacing it. After 2 years when my daughter was born, the elastic in the legs had stretched and the diapers were useless for her because there were gaping holes at the legs. These diapers have never held poop in well. Whenever my son or daughter have had a blowout everythign comes leaking out. I spent hours replacing the elastic in the legs, but they still didn't work. I was on the phone multiple times with the bumgenius company and they refused to stand behind their product. Very very disappointing. This is a terrible product. Should be called BUMSTUPID. My daughter ended up wearing the AIO with rubber pants over top to hold in the moisture. I just spent over $100 on new diapers from Motherease a recommended brand that has lasted multiple friends through multiple kids. I will never buy a single product from this company again. I am so frustrated! Rating: [1 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Stephanie on Monday 10 December, 2012 I thought these would be a good option until the baby grew into our BG OS but I'm having major leaking issues. If I'm changing him every two hours I might be ok, but I don't want to have to wake him at the two hour mark just to avoid a clothes change. I'd say 50% of the time this leaks. If I try and use it overnight then I'm guarenteed to have it leak. I don't know if my baby's thighs are just too skinny but that seems to be where it leaks. He's currently 8.5 lb so definitely in the weight range for this size. I've used the other sizes of BG AIOs on my other two kids and never had such issues. Also, birth weight was 7lb and I really couldn't use these until his cord came off because the rise was too high. Luckily, I still have the XS BG bamboo fitted which I use with a flips or thirsties. Unfortunately, I don't think they make the bamboo fitted anymore. Very fittingly, as I sit here typing this review I'm holding my sleeping son and he just wet on me. Guess I'll have to wake a sleeping baby after all. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Julia on Monday 26 November, 2012 Best Newborn diaper! We tried Grovia newborn, Fuzzibunz Newborn, BG newborn, and prefolds/covers. I thought i would try and save money with just prefolds/covers but baby girl came early and was 5 lb 4 oz. BG fit when she was two weeks old (after her cord stump fell off) and still fit at 12 weeks (11 pounds). Great investment for smaller babies. If i had gone to term and she was 8lb or more, i might have just stuck wit prefolds. BG is great though because it is stay dry. Great for sensitive skin. Rating: [2 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Amanda on Sunday 11 November, 2012 I purchased 12 diapers that were supposed to last the duration of diapering. I LOVED them at first but the velcro only lasted about two months before not sticking anymore. I am really disappointed with these. I would not recommend them. I have found another website that offers cloth diapers for 1/3 of the price of the BumGenius and I've been much happier with them and the snaps fit wonderful on a small baby. I think the snaps would be great but not the hook and loop. It's a design they need to change or have a better warranty on. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by cassandra on Thursday 25 October, 2012 Cotton Babies Verified Purchase I really liked this diaper over my NB covers and inserts. This was the only diaper that fit well on my newborn (6lb, 9oz) at birth. If money weren't an issue, I would have just bought all BG Newborn diapers. Now my daughter is a month old and has almost outgrown it at 9lbs. Rating: [4 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Kelly on Saturday 11 August, 2012 Cotton Babies Verified Purchase These fit my daughter from about 5 days old until about 4 weeks old. She was 7lbs. 9oz. at birth. At about 4 weeks old they started leaking and wicking onto the clothes. I moved her on up to the 4.0's. She is currently 6 weeks old and still could fit her at her current weight of 10lbs. While I loved the fit, it did make me unhappy she couldn't wear them at least a couple months because of the leaking. I do not regret buying them because the one size diapers are not truly one size, and she definitely needed something for that month where she was too tiny for them. I just wish it was longer! Rating: [3 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Jennifer on Thursday 09 August, 2012 My only complaints: The brand tag wicks pee out of the diaper onto my baby's clothes. The zinnia color bleeds badly. The laundry tab is in an awkward place. Rating: [2 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Courtney on Friday 20 July, 2012 It was important to me to use cloth from the beginning, and with my husband being anti-prefolds, these seemed like the best choice. These diapers are just ok, they seem to fit well, however, my daughter started leaking out of them at about one month of age. The diaper would last an hour or two, tops. We have a nice mix of freetimes and 4.0, which we started using around 4-5 weeks of age. If I had to do it over again, would not purchase these diapers, i would use disposables or prefolds until the one size diapers fit... Rating: [3 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Melissa on Tuesday 03 July, 2012 Starting using these right away on our 6lb 8oz newborn. Overall they're ok, but not great. They did not go below her belly button, so we had to substitute some disposables when her cord area was irritated. Now, at 3 weeks old and almost 8lb we are acing some problems with leaking. It mostly seems that pee leaks up her back when it's a 2nd or 3rd pee in the diaper. They're also loose around her thighs which may be causing leaking as well. they've worked great for poos though and washing has been no problem! Rating: [1 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Lorissa on Tuesday 05 June, 2012 I bought a couple dozen of the newborn diapers and am so disappointed. I wish I had just bought a few to test. They are cute and seemed to fit well but leaked from the very beginning. We pre washed as instructed, used the Bumgenius detergent and they still had zero absorbency.
My baby was just under 8lbs and we used them for 2 weeks before giving up. They leaked constantly. One time I changed his diaper and as I finished he peed and it streamed straight out his back.
We switched to the. 4.0s and have been extremely happy with them - zero leaking issues. Don't waste your money on the newborns. I wanted to like these diapers because they were so easy to use, but after only two weeks of use, they started leaking every time. We were so disappointed we decided to go ahead and move up to the one-size diapers we purchased for when our son outgrew the newborn diapers. Rating: [1 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Carolyn on Wednesday 23 May, 2012 We bought these for our son who weighed 7.8pounds at birth and these for pretty well, but seemed pretty tight around his legs compared to disposables. The diapers started out well, but they soon leaked every time he layer down, which is a lot for a newborn. After he turned two weeks old, we were fed up with the diapers because they leaked every time he slept and numerous times during the night and my poor baby would cry when he woke up and found himself in a puddle of urine. I called this company and they told me his diapers weren't tight enough, and I said they are as tight as they go. Then I was told that because he is a boy, he wets too much for the diaper and needs the next size up. I am pleased with the customer service. They offered for me to send in my newborn diapers and exchange them for the next size up. I'm worried that the next size will leak as well, but after seeing how many disposables we go through in a day, I'm willing to try cloth again.
From the looks of other reviews for this diaper, it looks like many people have had problems with the newborn diapers leaking. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Kattiey on Wednesday 11 April, 2012 I have really enjoyed these diapers and so has my husband. This is our first baby and, of course, our first experience with cloth diapers. We chose to use disposables until her cord stub fell of at two weeks, then we transitioned to these.
With disposables we had several poop "blowouts" and lots of redness problems. Once we switched to these, all of that ended. We occasionally will have a leak of urine around the legs but not often enough for it to be a problem for us.
Our little one is 6 weeks old and just over eight pounds, and we are still using these diapers with plenty of room to grow. She was 7 lbs. 6 oz. when she was born and is still pretty slender.
Overall, we are very pleased with this product. washing is simple, and they air dry pretty quickly. Rating: [1 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Erin on Thursday 29 March, 2012 I was very disappointed in this, as everyone raves about bumgenius diapers. Thankfully, I got this one free, so no money wasted. Both times I used this it soaked through and leaked onto my baby's clothes. Rating: [2 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Allison on Sunday 11 March, 2012 Cotton Babies Verified Purchase Unfortunately these diapers were a complete disappointment. They were my first experience with cloth and I'm so glad that I gave it a second chance with the Freetime that I love! I had a 5lb 10oz baby and she didn't fit into these until 8 pounds although they claim to fit 6 pound babies. Even when they fit perfectly she could only wear them for an hour or two at best or they would leak terribly. They are made of high quality material and fit nicely once the baby is big enough but after cloth diapering successfully with the Freetime, it simply seems that their is not nearly enough absorbency to this newborn diaper.
