Cotton Babies Verified Purchase The econobum trial pack is the first cloth diapering system that I bought. It was the only thing that I felt was a good deal at the time. Then I started making my own diapers whenever I could and I also bought other name brand diapers (bumgenius, fuzzibunz, rumparoos, kawaii) whenever I could find the money. When my baby was a newborn it wasn't my go to but after 2 months it has become my favorite nighttime diaper. Never leaks! She will be in this for a while which is always awesome! I fell in love once the other name brands could not hold up to heavy wetters. Awesome diaper and the prefolds never fail. Cotton Babies Verified Purchase When I first started out CDing, I started with this Econobum Trial Kit. My daughter was teeny tiny, and these just swamped her. To be honest, I hated them. However, now that she's almost a year old, I LOVE Econobums! I use this system exclusively at home now. The prefold is incredibly absorbent, and we haven't experienced any leaks at all. The cover has become my favorite. It has a lot of stretch to it, so I feel like she's getting the perfect fit every time. Plus, it is super trim! Highly recommend! Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!]

The prefols are a bit bulky and I wish they were wider so I could pin them easier but they are soft and absorbent. Even at nap time I only have to use 1 prefold....no more doubling! Cotton Babies Verified Purchase This is a great product at a tasty price, I wish I had gotten them sooner! And they shipped super fast, I couldn't believe it. The prefolds are trustworthy and very absorbant, even for naps, but they are bulky. I suggest for those of you with tiny babes to use gerber prefolds, they give them a nice lean fit with no bulk. I have a stash that I had been using as rags, no more! I do a twist fold and secure with snappis, and it's awesome. The elastic fits well and they don't leak (unless you have some cloth poking thru, just make sure you tuck!) It does pose a challenge because it's a two step deal to put the diaper on THEN the cover too, especially on a squirming and screaming 10 month old! I had been using bumgenius hook and loop pocket diapers, but the velcro is worn out (I bought them used, not from here) so I needed something to get by until another lot shipped in, and something to use as a back up otherwise. I bought the trial pack and an additional cover. With what I bought and the gerber prefold stash I have, it easily lasts me the day as long as she doesn't poop on the leg holes. They can get a little pee stink, but you just have to wipe it down and air it out then rotate covers.
The colored trim is cute, too.
All in all, I would definitely recommend this to someone and I'm happy with the purchase. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!]

Cotton Babies Verified Purchase I haven't used my trial pack yet, but I just wanted to comment on the shipping. I ordered my trial pack with "economy" shipping (I was to get it in 5-10 days). Well, I ordered my pack on Sunday night and received my package on Wednesday. It only took 3 days to get to me! So if you do order this, order as "economy" so you can save some money. I guess I don't know if this was just a one time thing or if the "economy" shipping option is always that fast. Rating: [3 of 5 Stars!]

Cotton Babies Verified Purchase we have a 14lb 4-month-old. the diaper cover is great. overall it fits well. no leaks. unfortunately the prefolds are a bit too bulky between baby's legs. hoping to continue to use the cover but find different prefolds that fit better on a young baby. I think the secret is the stretchy material and gentle elastic that helps you get a great snug comfortable fit with no red marks. I like this much better than the flip cover and thirsties duo wrap. The white part of the cover needs to be sunned because it stains. The prefold will not fit a newborn properly. It is really best to invest in sized prefolds to get a proper fit. I highly reccommend the flip organic prefolds as a primary diaper (after newborn stage) and the econobum prefolds as a backup or laundry day diaper. Rating:  [2 of 5 Stars!]

Our baby is a super-pooper and a super-wetter. We have never, ever had a leak. As a newborn, these were very bulky on her, but as she grows, they're fitting better and better. My very first cloth diapering experience began last week with gerber prefolds, pins, and vinyl covers. They actually did fine but made her bottom so bulky. I ordered this trial package to see if I would like this type of cover and I love it! I love how you don't need any safety pins and that you don't have to fold the prefolds "old school" style around the baby's bottom. Its such an easy system! Changes couldn't be easier. Having the ability to reuse tbe cover throughout the day really makes cloth diapering more appealing! The prefolds that come with the diaper are very absorbent. Thecover works great with my gerber prefolds as well. I purchased two full kits, and some stay dry liners to make this system even better. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!]

Cotton Babies Verified Purchase this is an update to 08/05/11 review. These prefolds get softer after many washes - now that my baby is 6 mnth old; - these are my favorite night time solution - they hold a lot with no leaking!
Econobum Covers are my favorite - the simple, lightweight, trim fit, gentle elastic around legs. PLUS they grow with the baby! I have Thirsties, Bummies cover, which my babe has outgrown, so I need to purchase larger size, or just more of econobums. Cotton Babies Verified Purchase I bought two trial packs and will never regret it. These diapers are so absorbent and easy to use. Either follow directions to fold in thirds or wrap and snappi in place, and you're good to go. I bought all snaps because my daughter is two and might easily get out of the hook and loop closure. Cotton Babies Verified Purchase I am speaking from the point of view of a mother who's main reason for switching from disposable to reuseable is to save money. I am also a first time cloth diaper-er, so I am not familiar with other brands, etc.
Pros: Great buy for price, easily washed/dried, off-white color prefolds(sounds silly), light weight, held in an enormous poo.
Cons: Snaps can be a bit time consuming, figuring out the right sizing is sometimes difficult, if new to the cloth diaper world it is hard to get the prefold and diaper to fit right..but practice makes perfect I guess. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!]

Cotton Babies Verified Purchase This is an update to my 9-15-11 review. I am still using the Econobum. I actually prefer them to the Flip now. Economically, these were the best choice for me to begin with cloth. The only thing that my daughter is not crazy about is the wetness against her skin. My economical solution was to buy a scrap of fleece and make my own stay-dry liners. It makes her much happier and only cost $1.62. Since my initial purchase, I have bought BumGenius and FuzziBunz from the Used or Seconds. The BG are great for dad. I like to use either of the BG or FB pockets when out, but I still use mostly Econobum at home. Even though they're the cheapest option, they're great. I would definitely recommend them and have. Cotton Babies Verified Purchase I got the Econobum trial pack for my 2 year old daughter, and at first I wasn't a big fan. The diaper seemed so bulky to me. I bought a Flip cover which I loved to use with the Econobum prefolds. The prefolds are very soft and absorbent. I actually don't mind them running a little small because I pad fold them in the cover anyway. Well, after using the Flip for a while I decided to try the Econobum cover again. Even though my daughter is 28 lbs, I put the cover on the medium setting and the fit was so much better. It didn't leave any red marks on her and it didn't leak overnight. I think this system is great for cloth diapering parents on a budget. It just takes a while to find a fold and a fit that suits your baby. I will be ordering a kit for my 3 month old soon. Cotton Babies Verified Purchase Our son is almost six months old now, and my wife and I have been pleased with the Econobum covers and prefolds. The prefolds are a bit bulking, but that does not seem to bother our son. Both the covers and the prefolds are holding up well. There have been no problems with snaps or anything.
We have not gone to 100% cloth, but use them at home during the day. We have not had any leaks, which is more than I can say for the disposables we use.
I gave them a 4 becuase they take alot of time to dry and the enegry expended there has to eat into monetary savings as well enviromental issues.
But overall we are very satisfied with the diapers and with the service we received from Cottonbabies. Rating: [4 of 5 Stars!]

Cotton Babies Verified Purchase I have a little bit of everything, but the Econobums are what I reach for first. They are inexpensive, decently made and easy to use. The only reason I'm giving it a 4 instead of a 5 is because I don't care for the Econobum prefolds. They are too big and bulky, so they quickly got repurposed as burp cloths or changing pads.
