Reviewed by Lyle on Sunday 31 March, 2013I received a Babykicks Hemp prefold as a gift and was immediately struck with how soft it was! It lost a tiny bit of softness in the prepping process but is still softer than my cotton prefolds. It takes a snappi or boingo well, better than many other hemp or bamboo products on the market. It's also suuper absorbant. My super-soaking, night-nursing chubbo wore it to bed one night and woke up happy. The front of the prefold was soaked, of course, but unlike the times I have tried cotton prefolds at night, his bum was dry. I would feel confident pairing this with a wool soaker for a super soaker baby!
I have the large size, and my baby is 11 mos and 23 lbs. It's still reasonably trim despite being folded down in the front to use up some extra length. It's not as trim as the Babykicks Premium Pocket, but as far as prefolds go, it's quite trim while still being quite absorbant! If I had gone down a size, it would not have needed to be folded down in the front and would have been trimmer.
I would recommend this to anyone looking to branch out from cotton prefolds, or in the smaller size to stuff pocket diapers! Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!]
Reviewed by Rachael on Friday 01 March, 2013 I absolutely love prefolds as inserts and this one is exceptional! Hemp is an amazing natural fiber and these prefolds are so soft and fluffy. I absolutely love them! They work great trifolded and used as a lay in or pocket insert and they of coarse work great as a regular prefold. I love that you can also use a snappi or a boingo with them! Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!]

I love that they have a little stretch to them which makes getting a great fit easy. We use the medium with our 22 lb 17 month old and there is plenty of room to use a snappi on them. They really do hold a ton of wetness without being super bulky. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!]

The preemie (yellow Trim) fit my baby from birth (5lbs, 13oz) until he was able to fit into his one size diapers. They are practically leak proof, when paired with a Bummis Super Brite cover. There was a learning curve with using the snappi with these, but once I got it, it was a cinch. I watched many of the video's on BabyKicks YouTube channel and they were SO helpful. These were so absorbent, I never had a leak, and OH SO SOFT! My mind was put at ease with these super soft diapers next to my tiny baby's sensitive bottom. Cotton Babies Verified Purchase What I like about this prefold:

What I don't really like:
It's bulky
I can't get boingos to hook on it, so I have to trifold it
Anyone who has ever trifolded a prefold knows it doesn't hold poo worth a crap (pun intended).
Overall I would recommend it. I really like how absorbant it is, but I do have to make sure my kids have had their morning bm before putting one of these on them. Works great for naptime. Rating: [4 of 5 Stars!]
