bumGenius Organic One-Size All-In-One Reviews (51) Write Review Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Amy on Monday 08 February, 2010Great diapers. I got a bunch of these as seconds back in October and these are my favorite diapers. I also had a few back when my son was smaller, i.e. on the smallest setting, and I really didn't care for them at that point--the smallest setting does have that weird bump from the soaker bunching up, and they left red marks on his waist. Once he moved up to the medium setting they fit SO much better--the soaker lays nice and no more red marks. Washing will always be trial and error--they do get stinky if you never bleach them or don't use enough detergent. The cotton is also nicer than the suedecloth diapers because in my experience the cotton can handle a little "CD Safe" diaper rash cream (I won't ever use it on the suedecloth again b/c I got major repelling--but not with these, it washed out just fine). Cotton is just easier to wash and get clean. I currently use fleece liners in these to keep my son's skin dry, plus it makes poop clean up easier and keeps stains off the cotton. I think my stash is complete for now, but when I need more (#2 is on the way!) these will be what I buy. Rating: [3 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Dustin on Sunday 31 January, 2010 We have been using the bumGenius 3.0s for a year and a half now and love them! We decided to try a few of these organics to see how we liked the snaps. Love the snaps! They will last a lot longer than the velcro on our others. However, the organics don't wic the moisture away from our baby's bum so he stays wet and I like the insert system better. These take much longer to dry plus they aren't near as soft on the bum as the original 3.0. Please put snaps on the original 3.0s!!! Rating: [1 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Shane on Saturday 30 January, 2010 After much research and a large investment in 30 organics, I am sorry to say that I do not recommend these cd's. We have been using them for 6 months and there are only a few of these diapers left that do not have a bm stain. The others have no stains because they have been lucky enough to avoid the poo. We tried bleach, the sun, the sun some more, oxyclean, etc. and the stains won't come out. We followed the washing directions exactly as stated by cotton babies from day one too. We have one bg 3.0 that has no staining issues, but the organics do for some reason. At this point, we feel like we've wasted hundreds of dollars. I searched around online today and read other reviews and posts about this problem with the organics. I hope to save other people from organic stain of shame! Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by stacie on Saturday 30 January, 2010 I just bought a dozen a few weeks ago. I have been waiting for my 3mo old DD to get big enough for a OS. We used prefolds and covers in the beginning but I couldnt wait to try some AIO's. I researched a lot!!! read reviews... I made the perfect decision for our family. My husband does full time parenting while I travel and I just knew that laudry tabs and inserts would be too overwhelming. I wanted to make this easy.......And they are!!! They look and feel great. absorbant. trim. I love the snaps!!!! and if you snap it together inside out and wrap the cotton around the diaper it makes a loop that completely eliminates that racket that all those snaps make in the dryer. Plus it only takes one cycle! I have to use the low setting because we dont have a medium on our dryer. Did I mention TRIM???? My husband just told me yesterday, We need some more of these!! Need I say more??? Rating: [3 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Courtenay on Thursday 21 January, 2010 I purchased several of the organic bumgenius, and when using them my daughter got a really bad rash and needed to wear disposables and have rash cream for a couple of weeks to heal. Cotton babies however has wonderful service and has agreed to exchange my organic diapers for the regular 3.0 microfiber diapers, we haven't had a problem with those. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Casey on Tuesday 12 January, 2010 I love these diapers! I am new to cloth diapering. I have purchased a few styles and found these to be the best. They are very absorbent. So far I have had no leaks!
I love the organic fabric. The pictures do not do them justice. They are very soft. The snaps are great. I am not a fan of velcro. It rub on his skin and makes him all red. So these snaps are great. My favorite style diaper is an all in two. This diaper is a cross over in my opinion. The layers are on the outside and not stuck inside the diaper. The absorbent layers are sewn at the ends. This is great because you don't have to put it together after it comes out of the dryer. They do take more time in the dryer but I think it is a fair trade off for all the soft absorbent layers. To get them to dry faster I suggest to fold the pul outer layer to the inside and wrap the layers around the outside. These are worth the money! Rating: [4 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Megan on Monday 11 January, 2010 These are by far the best diaper I have used! I have tried the 3.0s, and after a few months had to switch to another type of diaper because the velcro stopped working and the suedecloth caused a rash in my babies. After using various pockets, I decided to simplify to aios. These are perfect! I plan on ttc soon, and I'm not sure my twin boys will be pl'd by then, so these will be great for the new baby(ies) and the twins! The only problem I've had is the wetness issues. My twins have awful reactions to any wetness feeling. I recently started using the cottonbabies stay dry doubler, and it makes it a perfect combo for us! Trim (my boys are heavy wetters, and pockets have to be stuffed so full that their pants won't fit, but these are super absorbent without all the fluff!), reliable, and will last (snaps)! Thank you bg! Rating: [3 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Jesse on Thursday 07 January, 2010 I ordered these to compare them with the bumgenius 3.0- specifically snaps versus velcro. I was surprised when these showed up and had velcro! The packing they came in says snaps and the picture has snaps- I don't understand. Just wanted to let people know theirs may arrive with velcro also. Haven't had a chance to use them yet so can't speak to other factors. Rating: [3 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Molly on Thursday 07 January, 2010 I am giving these three stars because I really do like them in theory. Never had a leak, easy to use, however my baby gets a rash every time I use them. I am new to CDing, so I am not sure what to do. Should I get fleece instead? Help! Rating: [3 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Alicia on Wednesday 06 January, 2010 I wanted to improve my earlier review (see below) to mention that Cotton Babies went out of their way to replace my faulty snap diapers. Love using them, so that's great! However, this still isn't my fave diaper because it kept contributing to diaper rash, unlike the fleece diapers I have. Others love them though! So it is maybe just how I use them. Rating: [4 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Rebecca on Monday 04 January, 2010 These diapers are pretty good; they have their strengths, and I don't regret purchasing them. They are very absorbent once they have been prewashed at least 6 times. Also, they really do contain some explosive BF poo that would have been a massive blowout with disposables or other cloth systems. We've never had leaks with these diapers, and we have a heavy wetter with explosive poo. Additionally, it is wonderful not to have to stuff pockets. This is especially important to my husband, and these are his favorite diapers. The downside is that my baby happens to be particularly sensitive to being wet, and she can tell when she's wet with these cotton diapers. She can't even make it through a nap with these, much less through the night. She wakes up screaming because she's wet. So we had to buy the BG 3.0s for naps and overnight. Though it's a pain to stuff the pockets, it's much more preferable than her waking up every half hour with a wet diaper, which is what she does with the organic cotton. I also am not a huge fan of the snaps; I like the old aplix ones better. The snaps are harder to get on a squirming baby, and they are less adjustable. Rating: [2 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Alicia on Monday 28 December, 2009 These caused rashes and stained easily. I had three of 12 where the snap broke, and I'm not sure if I will get them exchanged because of the stains.
Pocket stuffers really aren't more difficult to use and the fleece never causes rashes. I recommend pockets! I wish I had all pockets and none of these. Rating: [1 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by betsy on Monday 21 December, 2009 Do not spend the extra money on the Bum Genius Organic All-in-Ones!
I love cloth diapering and I love my Bum Genius All-in-Ones. HOWEVER, I hate my Bum Genius Organic All-in-Ones. I cloth diaper with both and I wish that I had never bought the organic version. It is not worth the extra money or the organic cotton.
They take twice as long to dry. They have BM stains that I cannot get rid of, even in the sun! It is more difficult to spray BM off of them beccause of all the layers. The elastic legs are not as good as the regular Bum Genius All-in-Ones.
I LOVE Bum Genius All-in-Ones and I plan on cloth diapering my future children with these diapers. However, I will not be buying the organic versions. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Hannah on Friday 18 December, 2009 I am kind of new to CDing. I love the natural, cotton layers inside this diaper. It fits both my 9 week old and 2 year old. The only drawbacks are that they take longer to line dry than my pocket diapers, two days (I use a folding, metal rack in a spare bedroom), and they don't hold as much urine as a stuffable pocket diaper. Due to this fact, I will not use these at night (again, that is) as they leak. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Emily on Tuesday 15 December, 2009 I am thrilled with these diapers! I bought 27 and have used them for almost 5 months now. I've only had 2-3 leaks and even use them overnight. They do take a while to dry but I have discovered that they dry pretty fast on a rack placed over my heating vent. Also, in the summer, stains will fade and/or disappear with sunlight. They are expensive but the extra cost for organic cotton and a true AIO (no stuffing or snapping in liners) was worth it!! I haven't had any cleaning issues like some of the other reviews mentioned since breast-fed baby poo can go straight into the washer. I plan on using flushable liners when we switch to solid food. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Jennifer on Sunday 13 December, 2009 I absolutely love the bum genius organic all in one one size. I like these better than my bum genius one size with velcro. I chose the snaps this time and it was well worth the extra money. I have only one issue one of my snaps broke on the tab and so I can't use that diaper. However, this diaper happens to be the only one I have a slight stain that is barely visable so I can't send it back to get fixed. I really don't even mind paying for it. I just want to know how to fix it. Other than that I love them. I am going to buy more very soon I hope. Rating: [4 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by jannea on Tuesday 08 December, 2009 I have 6 of the "velcro" version... First of all, I love this diaper. It is organic cotton and a one size AIO. What else would one want?! Well, I learned after using them a while now ( 2 months ) on my new born that yes they take a long time to dry. I usually put them on 2 dryer cycles on medium heat OR hang dry in full sun all day and leave on overnight and into morning. I do not have enough diapers in my stash to wait for that! The only other complaint I have is that the velcro closure sucks. I already know that Cotton Babies no longer even has any to sell due to the way better version with snaps. So I wish I had the snaps. Oh well. I also have a bunch of Fuzzi Bunz in my stash and my husband seems to always grab for these instead due to the ease of use with the velcro and he likes that we do not have to stuff them. I really like the fun colors too. All-in-all a great diaper and when hung in the sun the BF poop stains disappear. Awesome! Rating: [4 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Jenny on Sunday 06 December, 2009 The main difference between these and the BumGenius 3.0 pocket diapers for me is the drying time. The Organic One-Size takes much longer to dry if you use it as-is, because the liner is sewn to the fabric creating thickness that takes up to 24 hours to fully dry. However, I have fixed this issue by ripping out the attachment at one end of the liner. I have a blog post with pictures here, if anyone else is interested in doing this:

We still love these diapers for the following reasons: TRIM - they fit like a disposable. SNAPS - son cannot get them off and they stay up better than the velcro. COTTON - wash out well - absolutely no odor in 8 months of use. SIMPLE WASHING - we use Hot wash and double cold rinse and are fine (need to use cold wash first to help keep stains at bay but we don't care about stains). and I need to add our DRY TIME is only 70 minutes on Medium Heat - that is not too long in our opinion - turn it on and come back when it's done :) I wish they weren't so expensive BUT half of these and half Flip and you've got an amazing system. Our only problem is that I'm concerned they won't fit when my son reaches 30 pounds. We'll see. The flip accomodate bigger babies so we may have to buy one more Flip day pack in a few months. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by melissa on Friday 06 November, 2009 i've been using these (and the velcro) for about 6 months now. yes, they take long to dry but it's worth it. the only leaks we've had is when someone forgets to make sure none of the liner is sticking out.. velcro is wearing a little but that's a known problem. they do stain but all you have to do is dry them in the sun and all the stains disappear - the diapers are glowing white again! so far, so good for us.. i hope i can say the same thing a year from now.
