Wish I could say I followed the cleaning instructions as well as others have, but aside from the velcro curling a bit these diapers have held up really well. My son is almost 16 months and I've put off writing a review to see if the diapers fall apart after heavy use--I have to say they have really held up nicely. Worth the price. Rating:  [3 of 5 Stars!]

Here are the pros and cons: Pros: 1. adjustable size makes them long lasting; 2. very absorbent especially with a booster added; 3, trim fit; 4. they work when treated right Cons: 1. cannot use any rash creams or ointments -will ruin the absorbency. Took 3 complete soakings with blue dawn to make them usable again. 2. Wasn't a good fit for newborn, even a newborn over 8 lbs. Not practical for the first 3-4 months when babies poop all the time. You'll go through them way too fast and need way too many. Use prefolds instead. 3. My son is now 26 lbs and the diapers are too small, even though they company states they will fit to 35 lbs. I tried a regular BumGenius in large size (up to 30 lbs) and it fits him fine. 4. Even with a booster, they are not absorbent enough to last all night once my son started sleeping through the night. Reviewed by Kimberly on Friday 31 July, 2009 I really love these diapers. they make cloth diapering so easy. Before my daughter was born I was unsure how it would go, but it really is easy. I love the different colored diapers, and I actually enjoy washing them! I have far fewer leaks and blowouts with bumgenius than on the rare occasions that I use disposables. The money I am saving by cloth diapering is reason enough to continue, not to mention the environmental factors. I've been using them for 3.5 months now, and wash them 2-3 times per week and so far they are holding up very well--much better than another brand of cloth diapers I also use. Rating: [3 of 5 Stars!]
Reviewed by senia on Tuesday 21 April, 2009 we bought 6 bumgenius about 4mths ago. they are very cute and the colors match almost everything she wears. these diapers fit very well into a diaper bag and work well for those who want a diaper closer to the style of a disposable. they fit our 10mth 20lb daughter very well and have not had any leaks due to diaper...just wasn't able to change her quick enough. i only gave it 3 stars because we only use these diapers about once a week, if not less, and already they are unraveling around the Velcro (Velcro is already starting to curl on some of them) and other areas are fraying. they are also hard for her father to stuff since he has large hands. yes, we use the proper amount of cloth diaper friendly detergent and we have followed the directions to the letter. i doubt these diapers will survive til our daughter is completely out of diapers but they come in handy for outings. we still prefer our cotton prefolds with wraps to these. Reviewed by Tessa on Friday 13 March, 2009 I used disposable for the first month before I switched to cloth. If you're considering cloth, I highly recommend BumGenius 3.0. You put them on just like disposables with velcro tabs but you wash and reuse them. They are more work, because you have to wash them every day, and its an initial investment because they cost $17 each and you have to buy detergent without additives (but you use that for the baby's clothes anyway). But you don't have to throw away millions of diapers that are just going to sit in the landfill, and it ends up being waaay cheaper because of the diaper sizing. You can change the size by snapping it smaller or larger and the baby can wear it from newborn to 35 pounds, which is most of the time they will be in diapers. My son seems to very much prefer his cloth diaper (we put him in a disposable now and then to use up the ones I received as gifts) - he doesn't get diaper rash like he did with his disposables and they only leak when you have a very messy diaper (seems like disposables leak every single time). A friend told me about these and I have had NO leaks or problems. I will never again go back to disposable diapers! Another differenc is disposables are so rough but these are very soft. I am sure my baby appreciates that! She had chronic diaper rash and within two days of using these it was all cleared up! I will recommend these to all my friends! :) Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!]
Reviewed by kristen on Wednesday 25 February, 2009 I LOVE THESE DIAPERS!!! i started using cloth diapers about two years ago w/ my son. i was using a cheaper brand so...it kind of had me feeling ill towards all cloth diapers. when my daughter was born i baught bumgenius diapers and they are awesome. they keep her bottom dry, unlike the first brand i used. i've been using them for 5 months now and never had leaks. plus my daughter has no problem moving around in then because they are fexible. i wish i knew about then 2 yrs ago! I bought 6 to start out with, and use them mostly when at home (partly because they are bulkier than disposables, and certain clothes don't fit!). My suggestion is to research and read as much as possible. There is a lot to know about using and washing these diapers. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!]

My daughter was so prone to diaper rashes until we started using cloth. Now it's all we use. After much research, we started with diapers I made myself and Indian prefolds. When my daughter began to outgrow the diapers I made we bought a couple of these. It cost almost as much to make them as this diaper cost so we thought we would give them a try. I was shocked at how well these work, they are better than disposables by far. We have been using them now for several weeks and they have never once leaked. We have 8 now and are wanting about a half dozen more. For our next child we will only use these. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!]
Reviewed by Tara on Tuesday 11 November, 2008 I LOVE these diapers....mostly =) My only complaint is that they are very bulky on very petite babies. My 11 month old daughter still fits comfortably into size 2 disposables and the cloth diapers make her very bottom heavy. It is much better once you can use the largest size setting and not have to snap them to the smaller sizes. We have used the same 6 diapers for almost 6 months and wash them daily...I don't even wash according to the directions, I use Tide with bleach, Clorox 2 and dry them on medium in the dryer..all no-no's...but they have held up GREAT!!! I think on my next baby I will try a less bulky CD and save the bumGenius for when they are a little older. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!]

At this point they just became annoying, but now the elastic is failing on these diapers. I have about 1 dozen and 5 are now totally useless. My other brands have not had the same elastic problem. I have washed these according to the washing instruction, using Allens Naturally. A diaper should last for one child. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!]

In fact, just for kicks one night, I put one on my 4-year old boy (he still has accidents at night). He weighs about 45 pounds, but he's tall and thin with no butt to speak of, so the diaper (barely) fit him. He really liked how soft it was, and his only complaint was that it made his butt look big ;-D Anyway, no leaks on him, either! I was amazed and so was he. We just used the regular insert and the doubler. So far, the diapers have washed up beautifully. I stuff them when they come out of the dryer and put them in her diaper stacker, where they fit perfectly. In order to make things easier, we have two diapers (colors that we weren't crazy about) that are used exclusively for overnight, so I double-stuff those ahead of time. Couldn't be simpler. She was allergic to all of the different dyes and such and continually had diaper rashes and yeast infections (and I changed her every 2 hours). Then what made them worse is she still leaked through the disposable (even the huggies overnight diapers). So I tried 3 different reusable diapers and she had no more rashes but still leaked. Needless to say I decided to take a chance3 with bumgenius! 3.0 and am SOOOO glad I did. I bought so many of these diapers and would never go back. SHE CAN WEAR IT OVER NIGHT AND NOT LEAK! That is sooo amazing since disposable diapers didn't even do that! Best yet, they are so soft. I mean I can't describe how soft they are. The inside feels so smooth and the outside is soft too. Also, these are no even bulky! I LOVE these diapers and have to say if you buy one to try you'll be back to buy a bulk! Last but not least, Cotton babies is the best! He doesn't walk funny with them on and they fit perfectly under all of his clothes. I am getting rid of everything else in my stash and using only BG! I'm trying to get rid of everything else I have so his stash will consist of only BG!!! They fit my son like a glove and I love how it wraps around his inner thigh perfectly! These are well made, convenient, absorbent and fit my daughter well with plenty of room to grow. I would strongly recommend these and will be ordering some more. I have used fuzzi bunz and kissaluvs, but will be trading them in. I did not buy the BG first because of cost, but wish I had because it would have been more economical in the long run. I use prefolds during the day, for economical reasons, but I bought the bumgenius 6 pack to use at night to keep Gracie's bottom dry. We were buying disposables for night use, but I knew it would get expensive fast. They wash clean every time; no stains. I love these they are awsome, and easy to put on when you're sleepy.
