We've been testing these in our own household for several months. At first we were skeptical (and I'm the worst skeptic!) but these really do work. We don't have as much static electricity. The washload looks "fluffed" when I open the dryer. Our clothes are less wrinkled overall and the dryer balls definitely make the entire load softer. You'll have to try this for yourself, but it makes the clothing feel soft and "normal". If you are aiming for a chemical free laundry routine, these are a must!

We really liked these. They definitely helped with static electricity and drying times, but after about 8 months one of the balls split.

These are ok. I was hoping they would reduce the static in the diapers, but they didn't seem to help.

I'm thinking the other reviewer who had one of these split must have gotten a bad set. We've had ours for about 8 months, going through approximately 160 loads of laundry and besides some slight discoloration on the spikey things, they look new. They shorten the drying time and reduce static cling a lot, though not completely.

Yes. I believe you may have received a faulty one. We have a pair that we have been using for several months now. They have worked great. No static, and the best thing is that they have shortened the drying time. We no longer do a second cycle for the heavy cottons. The ones we have now have only sunken in a bit, but they are still working. We are getting ready for another pair soon.
