After several months using Country Save, the diapers always stunk (even after monthly stripping and bleaching) and my son kept getting diaper rash.
I stripped them again, and switched back to Allen's. No regrets -- it's worth the extra cost in not having to buy a lot of diaper rash cream and liners, a lot of extra washing of the diapers. We have very hard water, and this just works the best of anything else I've tried. Rating:  [1 of 5 Stars!]

Cotton Babies Verified Purchase 1 star for how ineffective it was in cleaning Bumgenius diapers... it was "okay" for regular clothes. I had to wash the diapers at least twice to get the stink out. And if I used extra detergent, then I'd have to wash again anyway to get the suds out. Oh well. :-/ Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!]

Cotton Babies Verified Purchase I bought a gallon of Allens over two years ago. After cding my son for 2 years I still have about a half gallon left! I figured out that the less I used the better. At first I was using the recommened amount of 1/4 of a pump but this was still to much and left my diapers with an odd smell. I dropped to about an 1/8 of a pump and the smell went away and the diapers came out clean every time even after forgetting some in my car after a day trip for a few days!!! Clean everytime!! I started using it on Laundry and I will never go back to anything else. It is so gentle on my clothing and diapers. My BG elementals have lasted so many washes and still work Wonderfully. Cotton Babies Verified Purchase I have a top-loading HE machine and hard water. It was taking 3 washes with the bumGenius detergent so I thought I would try something else. I stripped my diapers then began using Allens. I've been using it for about a month but it's not working for me--even if I use a little or a lot (detergent and/or water). It suds and the stink doesn't come out, even after 3 or 4 washes and rinses. I have 17 BGs 3.0s, some organic flips, and a few econobums. I soften with Calgon and use bleach once a month too. The key is to use very little. It almost seems too little, but it works so well. I have never had a repelling issue or smell issue and I have never had to strip my dipes. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!]

I bought a 32oz bottle over a year ago, use it almost every other day, and I still have about 1/2 a bottle left! As a last ditch effort I bought a bottle of Allens and I am SO happy I did!! I have been using Allens for well over a month now and my stinky diapers have gone away they are clean now and my son has had no reaction whatsoever! I do have hard water and I do use Calgon to soften the water (I have done this will all my detergens) and I am so pleased with the results Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!]

Cotton Babies Verified Purchase This detergent has no fragrance to mask whether your clothes are clean or not. After washing with it, my clothes are fragrance free yet smell sooooo clean!!! Cotton Babies Verified Purchase I never write reviews, but I felt this was necessary. I am about half way done with my bottle of Allens. From the very first wash I knew I didn't like it. I use a very small amount and it does not wash out of my diapers. I have to do several extra rinses to get the suds out. Several meaning 3 EXTRA rinses every single time. I feel like I am wasting so much water. My baby has also gotten several rashes since starting this detergent. It is very frustrating to spend so much money on a product and then not like it. Cotton Babies Verified Purchase I am SUPER disapointed in this detergent. Our local cloth diaper store highly recommends it, as do other cloth diaper "experts." Because of, this I felt it okay to spend the 50$ on a gallon jug. I hate it. It leaves a residue and it leaves my diapers stinky. I am having to do extra washes, therefore using more water (which is NOT cheap). And even then, I am have to strip my diapers way more frequently. Every time I wash (every other day) I feel so mad that I spent so much money on this detergent that I am now stuck with. I have used Plant, Charlies, Bum Genius and now Allen's detergents. Cotton Babies Verified Purchase We've been using Allens Naturally for just over 2 years now (since just before our son was born & we were prepping his dipes) & I love it!
We've NEVER had any sort of residue problem or anything! The dipes come out nice & clean. (I do sort of wish that it was scented, but we always use tea tree oil in the wash anyway, so I guess it wouldn't matter anyway! LOL)
This is the only detergent that I recommend to people for their dipes (except maybe for O-Nature-L).
We love this stuff though! Oh! And the gallon size is still about 1/2 way full after 2+ years!!!!--It is SO concentrated! Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!]

Cotton Babies Verified Purchase I purchased the one gallon size w/pump of Allens Naturally in August of 2008. It is worth every penny you pay for it. Because of the special pump, your 128 loads per bottle turns into 512 loads. Even with shipping calculated into the cost your getting alot of cleaning power for your diapers at a very small price.
I'm still working on using up that bottle I bought in August, because I have a LG TROMM HE washing machine and I use about 1/8 of an ounce to do each wash cycle with. This is by far my favorite detergent to wash my daughters diapers with it gets them very clean and they smell fresh and clean every time. Rating:  [2 of 5 Stars!]
Reviewed by Melissa on Sunday 29 March, 2009 This detergent caused buildup on my bumGenius 3.0's, depsite the fact that I have soft water and was using only 1/16 oz per load in my HE machine (normal load use is 1 oz, divide that in half for an HE machine, divide in half again for soft water, then divide by 1/4 of that for diaper washing). The diapers smelled and repelled.
Also, this detergent left my other clothes quite dingy. Switching to Charlie's Soap noticeably brightened my clothes, but then left my son's bottom with detergent burn so we turned to Country Save. Rating: [1 of 5 Stars!]

Cotton Babies Verified Purchase This is a good detegent, however, the packaging is so difficult that we will never buy it again. constant spills, hard to measure out (we try using the cap, but it leaks when put back on). no matter what this is such a mess that we are moving on as soon as we use this bottle up. might check out different packaging of the product if available. Cotton Babies Verified Purchase I use this for my BumGenius 3.0 one size diapers and microfiber inserts. My diapers come out perfectly clean with no smell whatsoever. Of course, when washing diapers I rinse multiple times, but its nice to have diapers so clean that they have no smell at all. I have been using it to wash my cloth diapers (AIOs and Pockets) and cloth wipes and have been very satisfied.
