Cotton Babies Verified PurchaseI bought a set of these when my son was 4 months old to help us get through the night. Man what a difference!! Just one added to the normal os insert and no leaks any more at night!! I can't wait to try them on our newborn!! They slim down the diapers so much compaired to the OS. The only bad thing is that I have noticed you have to strip them on a more regular basis as they do start to stink after a while of heavy wetting. Rating:  [3 of 5 Stars!]

Cotton Babies Verified Purchase I don't like the way these fit into my 4.0s and they're very rough compared to everything else in my stash. Plus for a 3 month old I have to use 2 if she's even going to take a nap while a prefold (not even in a trifold) can last her through the entire night. Rating: [3 of 5 Stars!]

Cotton Babies Verified Purchase Be careful when you buy these. They are not the bumGenius stay dry doubler!!!! I had previously purchased the bumGenius stay dry doublers (that came in packs of 3) that could be used as newborn inserts. I wanted to buy more, so I went to the bumGenius products & purchased these only to find out they are not the same item.
These are advertised with nearly identical wording, are the same size & used for the same purpose, but ARE NOT the same items. I intially thought that I was sent the wrong item, so I e-mailed customer service. That was when I was told I had previously purchased the stay dry doubler, not the diaper doubler. I was told I could return them, but by the time I pay for shipping it wouldn't be worth it.
Also, I have searched for the "stay dry doublers" on this website now & could not find them anywhere. So if have previously purchased the doublers & are looking to buy more, be aware these are not the same product. Rating: [3 of 5 Stars!]

Cotton Babies Verified Purchase These inserts are very absorbent, as advertised, and will deliver on all their claims. However I have stopped using them for several reasons: 1) they get smelly much quicker than my cotton fibers and made my nighttime diapers stink 2) the material does not feel good to my hands and clings to everything-it does not stay soft at all once washed 3) it is a material that cannot be against my son's skin, so I always had to be aware of that when diapering 4) it is white which I hated having mixed in with my natural stash-this is a purely cosmetic reason :) Overall, I have found an all cotton stash to be preferable. That is one woman's opinion, but I just sold these off and will be ordering hemp inserts in the case that I miss having a doubler. Rating: [4 of 5 Stars!]

I used one newborn insert in BG diapers from 1 month until 3 months, and then from 3 to 6 months used two or three inserts instead of the regular sized insert. I found that using these instead made the diaper less bulky and therefore leak less.
They do retain a lot of stink, these microfibers. I followed directions perfectly, but found that only Rockin Green Hard Rock could knock out the odor of microfiber because of our hard water. That is why I didn't give them a perfect score - organic cotton soakers and hemp soakers just don't have the same stink issues. Rating:  [5 of 5 Stars!]

Then I started seeing some leaks so I added two newborn doublers to my one size insert and no more leaks! I am ordering a few more pkgs of these so that all my 3.0s can have two doublers per night and I don't have to wash every other day. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!]

These work great for DD as a newborn, but as soon as she grew a little bigger she needed the OS inserts because she is a super soaker. So, for a super soaking newborn I would say these are good... absorbent yet not too bulky!! I have not yet tried them as a booster/doubler along w/our OS inserts because adding more layers would be too bulky... when DD gets bigger I will try it though. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!]

Cotton Babies Verified Purchase We love these. They even work well inside BumGenius One-Size diapers by themselves. Our baby is now 5 months old. We don't even need to use the standard inserts yet. Even better, we use these inside GDiapers rather than their disposable inserts, which makes those diapers even more eco-friendly. Practically every diaper change required a clothes change... not fun! In any case, for these first three months, these were fantastic. They weren't bulky under her clothes, and she had very very very few leaks... well, maybe a few times at night since she started sleeping through (approx. 8 hours straight) around 2 months.... but I realize that that's unusual:-) Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!]

However, please remember not to use microfiber directly touching baby's skin. If you use this with a prefold, wrap the prefold around it so that only the cotton is touching baby's skin. Cotton Babies Verified Purchase These are a must have. My babies have both been heavy wetters, so I use one of these with a CB insert in my BumGenius diapers for daytime use. Love them, and I always tell new cloth diapering moms to get some doublers. .. These are the ones I recommend. Cotton Babies Verified Purchase I got these with my bumgenius one-sizes, which I ordered after my son was too big to use as an insert, and I don't really need a doubler for the bg's yet, so I wasn't sure what to do with them. Then I found that these are great for using with my pre-folds. My son outgrew the size small bummi's covers, so we went into medium covers, but the large pre-folds were way too bulky, and the small pre-folds didn't quite do the job. I found that if I used the small pre-fold w/ the insert on top, it was much trimmer, and keeps my son drier. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!]
