Proraps Classic Reviews (51) Write Review Rating: [2 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Stephanie on Wednesday 27 January, 2010I tried a couple different covers to see what we liked and these were not it!!! They are a great fit for my long and lean baby boy, but the tabs are awful. They don't overlap like most others we tried and when they first switch to a new size they are way too big and leak every time with BM poo. Plus the top doesn't have any elastic so when he pooed in his swing or car seat it went straight out the back and all over his clothes!! Would not recommend, but the thirsties were our fav by far and that's all we use now!! Rating: [2 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Kristin on Sunday 10 January, 2010 I am sure these would work OK for some, but they just didn't work for my long and lean baby. The small I bought has never fit and I've tried it several times over the last five months. I recently tried again, but we had leaks immediately because the legs just don't get snug enough. It's a great price, but I'll stick with my Thirsties. Rating: [4 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Mandy on Friday 20 November, 2009 These are a good little cover for the price. The newborn size was just perfect when we first got home from the hospital. We were given some of the Thirsties X-Small to get started with, but we found the Thirsties to be a little big in the beginning. Glad we had the prorap during those early days. Rating: [4 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Sunni on Sunday 08 November, 2009 This cover is definitely the most economical on the market and I didn't find it to be any worse (or better) than the thirsties duowraps. It works great and the newborn size has an umbilical scoop. It was perfect with a newborn prefold.
The downside of these covers is no laundry tabs, so I just put the sides back on and turned it inside out. It washed fine. It is also produced in China. Some people may not like that. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by john on Saturday 31 October, 2009 great basic cover--great price! we loved these as our newborn size covers, since babies grow out of that size so fast, the gussets worked perfectly to contain "blowouts". We had some issues with these covers turning very dingy in the wash, but I was able to use some oxyclean free (not sure if this is recommended, but I did it anyway), to get them back to the nice white color. A very practical cover for basic diapering needs. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Cecelia on Sunday 25 October, 2009 Great! After we got the right size, we're not having any problems. We hadn't purchased any newborn size because we anticipated a bigger baby. Our little 6#6oz nugget was swimming in the small. Newbie size fits perfectly over the infant sized Chinese prefolds and her tiny little butt and slim legs. Only small leak we had was my fault, of course-I didn't tuck the dipe in all the way; even then, it wasn't a 'blowout'. She seems to be a powerful pooper and a moderately heavy wetter and we haven't had any trouble so far. Even though she is so trim, we don't have issues with the velcro wanting to overlap. Very pleased with the purchase! Rating: [4 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Angelique on Friday 11 September, 2009 I like these covers. They work just fine. They are compariable to the Thirsties if you are looking for a less expensive cover. However, I like how the velco fasteners on the Thirsties can overlap whereas with this brand they do not. Make there fit a little more limited. But over all they work just as well as the Thirsties! Rating: [4 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Zuzana on Thursday 10 September, 2009 Great covers, very satisfied with them...thanks cotton babies for shipping them so fast... Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Holly on Friday 19 June, 2009 I love these covers! A friend gave me hers to use and see if I liked them. They never leak if put on properly. They only leaked when my husband didn't tuck in the cloth diaper around the leg area. The elastic on the legs holds in the cloth to prevent leaking. My daughter is 8 lbs. and we have no problems and they're quick and easy to put on. I'm buying my own supply now. The bummis brand doesn't cover the cloth as well as these, I have more leaking problems with this brand. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Amanda on Monday 18 May, 2009 These wraps are great! I have used them since my son was born 15 months ago... we are on our 3rd size, and they do hold up well. We have been using the current size for at least 9 months and they are still as good as new. The velcro is still like new and the fabric is too. I use the prefolds folded in 3rds like a giant maxi pad and lay it in the middle... no snappie or anything else, the cover holds it in place. Don't be afraid to buy these covers because they are 'cheaper' than the rest... these are fantastic covers that stand up to use and frequent washing. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Karen on Wednesday 22 April, 2009 I love the prints on Bummis, but to be totally honest, these have fit and held up the BEST on my son. Never any leaks, with what I think is the best around-the-leg coverage for my chunky-leg son. Rating: [2 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by senia on Tuesday 21 April, 2009 no leaks but... the inside stains, the tabs can't overlap, no color variety, and the velcro has hard edges so they scratched the baby's belly. The proraps have been great for us. We used the small size soon after my son was born, progressed to at mediums approximately 7 or 8 months (I'm guessing) and now at 13 months he is almost ready for the large size. As you can see from other posts, the fit and function of these wraps vary depending on the size you use and the shape of your baby. In my case, it seemed like he would temporarily be in between sizes (smalls were too smal but mediums were a tad too big.) I kept using the "big" mediums at that time with a little extra caution to prevent leaks. In general, when they fit right, they work great. He poops a lot and he is mobile so it doesn't always stay in one spot, but I am frequently amazed how effective these are at holding it all in. I've never had #2 leaks since he was a newborn. FYI, I use these when we are at home because they are easy and quck to clean and reuse. For traveling and overnight I use the more expensive and wonderful BumGenius pocket diapers. Cotton Babies has been a great resource when I was researching diapers and great customer service every time. Rating: [4 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by codie on Monday 09 March, 2009 These are great covers. The leg gussets work wonderfully and the wife off inside is great. Paired with chinese prefolds, these are as trim as disposables. Not great for chunky babies, though. The size small barely fit to 14 lbs. The velcro tabs do catch on the other material and the gusset trim. I do not see these lasting longer than a couple months. Great for the price!!! Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Janine on Friday 27 February, 2009 We love these wraps on our hard to fit tall skinny 2 year old and our 4 month old. Our 2 year old has been in the medium size for a long time and they are showing some wear, but for all the use and abuse they have taken we can't complain. They work extremely well with prefolds. The 2 year old just hit 30 pounds and I just realized the mediums might be a bit snug so we are ordering the large just in time for potty training! The scoop in front on the newborn size made me fall in love with these covers when our older child arrived and I ordered a bunch more for our new little one. Happy diapering! Rating: [4 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by McKenzie on Wednesday 28 January, 2009 My 2 month old son and I got these for Christmas from my parents. I really like using them as they help to reduce the bulk of my cloth diapers and allows us to continue to use the same size of clothes for a little while longer. The only problem is that they are supposed to be washed on gentle cycle, which for most people isn't a problem...but we don't have a gentle cycle on our washer, so we just wash them with our diapers in cold on perm press. We hang them to dry next to the wood stove for the most part and they haven't showed any wear in spite of washing them on perm press. Rating: [1 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Kathryn on Sunday 28 December, 2008 I can't stand these covers. I was given one as a gift, but after using Bumkins and Thirsties covers for 8 months - this thing doesn't even compare!
It's stiff, hard, uncomfortable, and the leg openings are HUGE. The one time my daughter wore it, she leaked all over the place and she had red marks on her belly and back from the material.
I will never use it again! Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Danielle on Wednesday 10 December, 2008 These covers are fantastic. They're not as pretty or as soft as Bummis, but they are much cheaper and work like a charm. The sizing is pretty accurate (or at least it is for my long, skinny baby), and they've survived numerous trips through the dryer without losing their waterproofing. We bought two, and were given four well-used ones from a friend. The old ones worked just as well as our newer ones. The leg gussets contain even the juiciest BF poo. At first, I thought it was a little tough on my newborn's skin, but the "irritation" went away when his skin stopped peeling after a week or two. Now it's clear that it wasn't irritation, just the normal peeling from the vernix. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Ashley on Sunday 30 November, 2008 I have been using these covers from the start with my son and I love them! The double gusset keeps leaks in check and the loop and hook closure makes cloth diapering easy enough for even my husband to volunteer to change them. I find the sizing fairly accurate, babies grow so quickly that they need a good margin or you'd be buying new covers every week! I am telling all my friends about these covers and have already gotten my sister using them. Rating: [3 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Karyn on Monday 10 November, 2008 I bought the mediums for my son who is currently 17 lbs. I think they are really too big for him. The rise is too high so I can't get full coverage of my fitteds or prefolds at the upper part of the legs. I'm thinking that when he is closer to 20-22 lbs, the mediums will fit better. I haven't used any other size. View all 51 reviews |
