Thirsties Duo Wrap Reviews (12) Write Review Rating: [3 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Lindsey on Tuesday 02 February, 2010We have used the Thirsty wraps and loved them. They air-dry quickly and we have gotten about 6 months of wear out of them when the Duo Wrap was introduced. We are expecting another child and decided we should invest in a couple Duo Wraps so we can use them for our 18 month old and later with our second. I am disappointed to say that the Duo Wrap seems smaller than the regular Thirsties and within 3 months the fabric is already worn out and tearing around the legs. Our second is due any day now and it looks like we are going to have to toss our Duo Wraps. It's unfortunate because I wanted to take advantage of the multiple sizing. The regular Thirsties are still going strong however. I just ordered some Flips and am hoping they will be more durable. Rating: [1 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by cristina on Friday 29 January, 2010 I wish these worked for me, but...
1. I hate this type of velcro--it wears out REALLY fast, losing stickiness after a handfull of washes. Now I was these covers by hand because I know they will not last much longer if put in WM
2. The gusset edge is made out of a different fabric, much thinner then the rest of the cover. because it is white, it stains REALLY BADLY, although I rinse right away and wash by the end of the day; the thicker white trim that wraps around the edges does not stain, although it is also white.
3. The gusset elastic is flexible, but the other elastic on the outside gusset, is NOT as flexible. If I adjust the cover to fit the tummy, the outside gusset cuts into my baby's skin and leaves red marks on her tighs. My DD is thin but tall, and at only 2 mo, I cant make the size 1 to work--it never did, since she was 2 wks old--when I purchased them. It is now on the largest setting (9 mo) even though she is only 2 mo old, and it doesn't even cover her infant prefolds--it never did, and it never will, lol! This is because the cover is way too short and the infant prefolds purchased here at cottonbabies, are much longer. If I try to fold the prefold, then I am left with baulk and licks!
Get the Econobum, BumGenius, or Flip. They adjust much better with room to grow and they are much better contructed and they don't stain. The BG velcro still looks great after using it for the same amount of time as the Duo.
I wish The Flip would come in more colors, because I am still looking for more covers. Flip and Econobum took care of all the messes, but the Duo did not--this is because they fit too loose at the tigh and waste or I would have to strangle my DD's tighs. Her tighs are average, they are not chobby. The Duo covers were a waste of money. The stains were very dissapointing, but I would give it more stars if it at least fit and the velcro was of better quality! I will not buy more and I will not recommand. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Amanda on Wednesday 23 December, 2009 LOVE these. They fit my little one like a charm, and we have had zero leaks, even with some pretty big blowouts. The velcro is great, they wash up easy and dry really fast, even when line-drying. I have used pocket diapers in the past, and I actually prefer using the Thirsties Duo wrap with prefolds. It's just as easy to change, and way easier to wash. Plus it's so much cheaper!! Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Amy on Wednesday 09 December, 2009 I love this cover! It has been perfect over our PFs and fitteds of all kinds. Terrific buy and totally worth it! Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by jannea on Wednesday 09 December, 2009 I have 2 of the size 1. I use these with prefolds and it works. These covers are more narrow than the regular Thirsties covers but they still work. I love them! They are great! I love the adjusting snaps for a better fit. They are thin and I like that for more comfort. They have nice leg gussets and good velcro closure that is very adjustable. My 13 Lb almost 3 month old uses the 2nd row of snaps already but I still can get alot of use out of these up to 18 lbs. Cute colors too! Never had a leak and the leg edging dries fast in between uses. Love these. Plan to buy the next size up when appropriate. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Tara on Tuesday 08 December, 2009 I'm very impressed with this cover. My daughter is an extremely heavy wetter (in an hour or two, she can saturate a disposable size 3 diaper to the point where her clothes are wet), but the Thirsties cover seems really bulletproof. I had used only pockets and AIOs with her until now--she's 21 months old--but am just now trying Indian prefolds with the Thirsties Duo Wrap to supplement our stash, and I've been surprised at how much I love it . . . the prefolds seem to have fantastic absorbency and are cozy and soft, and this cover has not leaked at all. The leg gussets just seem to fit her trim little legs very well (and are adjustable for larger babies). She weighs 22 lbs and wears the size 2 on the smallest setting. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Stephanie on Friday 09 October, 2009 I love my new Thirsties Duo wrap diaper covers. The size one is just the right size for my 15lbs baby on the biggest setting even though it says up to 18lbs. I love it though and want more colors. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Charis on Tuesday 21 July, 2009 I have tried a number of diaper covers over the years and Thirsties are by far my favorite. They fit great, rarely leak, they are easy to wash out, dry quickly and they come in so many colors. The addition of snaps to change sizes has only made them better and more economical. Like a previous reviewer, I also recommend hand washing (as much as possible) and hanging to dry - they will last longer and you will need fewer. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Janine on Sunday 19 July, 2009 Didn't want to confuse. By "2" size ranges I was referring to (x-small and small) and then ( medium and large) depending on which duo wrap you purchase. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Janine on Sunday 19 July, 2009 Nice new colors and they seem to work just as good as the regular thirsties covers. I love the idea that for 1.50 more I can get a cover that works for "2" size ranges compared to just one. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Myrisa on Saturday 18 July, 2009 I love them! They fit very nicely with no gaps, and are very easy to wipe down or even hand wash. You can also just throw them into the washer with the dirty diapers and wash on hot. I hang dry them though, I find it makes covers last longer. It really is adjustable and will save you money. No rashes or marks on baby too!I recommend them. View all 12 reviews |
