Happy Heiny's Pocket Diapers Reviews (15) Write Review Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Christy on Wednesday 18 November, 2009Since I didn't know which diapers I would like when I started diapering, I ordered several different kinds. Out of everything I have tried, this is my favorite. The velcro looks much better because it is covered. It hasn't leaked yet and fits trim and seems light. Wish I had more of these. The BG inserts do well in them as well as the HH brand. The fleece dries very quickly and doesn't seem to retain any stains, unlike the suede cloth diapers. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by KATHERINE on Friday 04 September, 2009 We got some new infant-sized Happy Heinys diapers in a combo. pack and like them so much that we got some HH (used) from Diaperswappers about 18 months ago, and these things are tough as nails. They are a little pilly and the aplix are frayed at the edges, but the aplix works fine, and the PUL is still waterproof. I really like these because they are very trim diapers, they don't seem to hold smells like the Bum Genius dipes we have, and the aplix tabs are far and away better designed than the BG tabs, which are in need of resewing because they are coming apart from each other. NB: we have only two BG and two HH diaper covers in use right now and a few wool covers, and that's it, so these things get washed pretty frequently (like weekly, if not 2x/wk). I have not had trouble with leakage, either with these stuffed, or using them as a cover with a prefold laid inside it. But, we also EC, so we try not to let DS pee in the diaper in the first place. At night, they are FAR AND AWAY the superior diaper. DS sleeps hot and doesn't like wearing extra clothes, and those stinkin' Bum Genius diapers have a tendency to come off in his sleep so that when he does pee, they are around one ankle and the bed gets soaked. Not. Cool. Happy Heinys have a perfect track record for staying on all night. Rating: [1 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Christina on Tuesday 14 April, 2009 Very disappointed with this diaper. Thankfully I only got one to try. They fit well, but leaked terribly. My son would wake up from a 2 hour nap soaked and have to have his clothes changed. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by johnna on Thursday 13 November, 2008 I have to say, these are the best diaper (by far) if you have a baby with chunky legs. Everyother brand has given my baby horrible red marks, and these don't leave any marks and they last 12+ hours at night (w/ a hemp doubler). I love them!! Washes very easily and quick to dry. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Heather on Sunday 21 September, 2008 These are actually my husbands favorite diaper we also use the bum genius, but we mainly use the happy heiny's. Alex is 9 months and we are just now having to order the large diapers. Rating: [2 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Zakary on Sunday 14 September, 2008 I purchased these locally and I am so disappointed with them. They don't keep the baby dry like the BumGenius and they make horrible marks on my baby's waist and thighs. (He weighs 21 pounds and I have him in the Large.)
My least favorite so far. Rating: [2 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Andrea on Wednesday 27 August, 2008 These are my least favorite pocket diaper for sure. They leak out of the back because there is no flap to hold the insert in. I'm sticking with BG or Thirsties! Rating: [2 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Emily on Thursday 07 August, 2008 These diapers were very disappointing. First, the wash tabs do not work, so the Velcro stuck to everything in the wash and the inside pilled up. Next, they leaked at the legs. I would adjust them as small as would fit on my son, but it did not help. Next, they were very bulky, especially on the top. The design of the tab is very thick and hard to fit under pants. I won't be using them again! Rating: [2 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Katherine on Monday 16 June, 2008 The sizing range sucks. I would love this diaper if it had crossover tabs to help with skinny waists. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Mary on Sunday 25 May, 2008 I use Fuzzi Buz, Bum Genius 2.0 and Happy Heiny's. I love my happy Heinys and my Happy Hempys the best. I stuff them with a prefold diaper and I never have leaks. Sometimes we go for 4 hours between changes and I have no leaks. I do love my Bum genius but I get pressure leaks on the tab seams. I wash them and dry these on low and have no problems ever. I've been using them for 15 months with my son and can't wait to buy girly ones for my new baby. Rating: [4 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Jessica on Monday 28 April, 2008 I bought this diaper, along with a couple of others, after my baby grew out of her Kissuluvs fitteds. These are very easy to stuff and quite trim so that they fit nicely under outfits, but they tend to leak quite frequently for me. I definitely don't grab for this one as quickly as my bumGenius fitteds or bamboo fitted (my absolute favorite!). But I may not be using a good enough insert? I've been using at least two, sometimes three, of my kissuluvs inserts. Since these diapers run a lot slimmer than the bumGenius, those inserts would certainly never fit. So to try to save myself from another purchase, I used the kissuluvs inserts, which fit great. But I just get leaks. I know that that if we're going out, this diaper definitely won't cut it. But the tabs are really nice and certainly don't come undone in the wash! Rating: [3 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Melissa on Wednesday 23 April, 2008 These WERE my favorite diapers until this week (we use kissaluvs fitted, bumkins and g-diapers as well). I liked that the legs don't have elastic so they don't leave marks on my baby's chunky thighs. However, this week we have had two accidents with these diapers because of this lack of elastic - once I was holding her a little tilted to the side and the pee actually ran out the leg hole and onto my leg and the floor! The other accident occurred while she was sitting in her bouncy seat - she had a poopy blowout that came out the leg (yuck). Maybe I didn't have them secured tight enough around th waist??? But it happened twice so I don't think it was user error. I can see them being a problem once the kid has bigger potties and is more active so I won't be buying any more. I like kissaluvs fitted much better. Rating: [4 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Janette on Friday 07 March, 2008 A great pocket diaper. It is easy to stuff, fits very well, & no leaks thus far. These go higher in the rise which is good for keeping runny poo from escaping the top back of the diaper. I like the longer tab design & that the tabs are covered when fastened. The laundry tabs NEVER come undone in the laundry. It loaves NO marks on my sons legs. It would be a better value if it were a one size diaper like a bumGenius 3.0, but other than that I give it an A-. Rating: [4 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Rachel on Monday 27 August, 2007 Great pocket diaper. It's easy to stuff, and can be stuffed to absorb a LOT of pee. A viable one-size option would make it perfect. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Lana on Wednesday 27 June, 2007 Happy Heiny's are really good for a night time diaper. Just use two good doublers and your night will be leak free. Solids are the ones to use for night. These diapers now come with snaps for those curious babies. View all 15 reviews |
