Cotton Babies One-Size Insert Sock™ Reviews (38) Write Review Rating: [4 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Autumn on Monday 05 July, 2010They keep baby dry. but they do not work well for me to stuff and lay inside a cover, when we tried this they leaked horribly. so I just lay them inside my prefold to keep baby dry. I know that these are for stuffing pocket diapers but I was hoping they would be alright with just a cover for overnight. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Cristen on Tuesday 22 June, 2010 These can hold a large Knickernappies Superdo, which is exactly why I bought them. I'm hoping this combo ill work well in my Flip covers for overnight. Rating: [4 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Sarah on Monday 07 June, 2010 I have to add sometime to my last review of these. They work great with the Bum Genius inserts, but these WILL NOT accomodate a premium pre-fold diaper. We fold the pre-fold into thirds and lay it in a diaper cover, and the premium pre-fold is TOO LONG for these socks. An infant pre-fold fits perfectly though. Maybe when they said it will accomodate a premium pre-fold they meant to lay it on top of a pre-fold when using the pre-folds the traditional way, with a snappi or pins. The wording, however, made me think that a premium pre-fold would fit INTO the sock, which it does not. Still, it's great to use with an infant pre-fold, and the BG inserts. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Sarah on Thursday 03 June, 2010 I LOVE these socks! I stuff a Bum Genius insert into the sock and lay it into a cover, and we're good to go! We've had no leaks thus far, and the poop just rolls off of the sock into the toilet. This will give you a "pocket like" diaper at a fraction of the cost, since you can re-use your covers. We go through maybe 2 covers/day. Sometimes only 1. Wipe the cover with a cloth after each use and put a new sock/insert into the cover and go! Without these, we would not be CDing, becasue my daughter has sensetive skin. This keeps the urine away from her skin and her bottom stays dry! Can't say enough great things! Rating: [3 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Lori on Monday 31 May, 2010 I bought 18 of these to use with the BG microfiber inserts to use with my Flips. I LOVED them and it was cheaper than buying a lot of BG 3.0. I use Flips during the day and BG OS at night. The inserts work...no leaks, but, they gave my son diaper rash!!!! I will try using a diaper cream with them and if it messes up the inserts oh well!!!! I am only giving it a less than good rating only because it caused diaper rash with my little one. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Jessica on Wednesday 19 May, 2010 I cloth diaper only at night, and we bought these to use for that. They are perfect! We stuff a premium Indian pre-fold in there, and it keeps the pee off my son's bum through the whole night. No leaks, no wet bottom. I bought three to try them out, and am back on here to buy more! Rating: [4 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Abigail on Monday 17 May, 2010 I love these socks with the one size inserts. I use the Flip system and i think that these work better than the actual flip inserts as they are a little wider and softer. My only complaint is the price is a little high for what they are. Otherwise I absolutely LOVE them! Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Nikki on Friday 07 May, 2010 I LOVE these! They work really well. I even came back a second time to buy another one! And plan on purchasing more. I've stuffed these with a premium indian prefold (which the prefolds are too long, so you have to fold them over), which works well, but does make the diapers for overnight extremely bulky. The infant indian prefolds are to short to fit perfectly in the socks (they are shorter than the gerber birdseye prefolds, but are the same width). But I've had success with no leaks using the premium prefolds. Going to be trying new ways for overnight 'less bulky' diapers. But I would definitely recommend these socks. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Sheila on Wednesday 17 March, 2010 I LOVE these!!! My chubby 4 month-old has grown out of his BG 3.0 (for now) and I didn't want all of my inserts to go to waste, so I decided to try these. They work great with the FLIP system! They are a little wider than the Flip inserts, but that really helps contain messy breastfed baby poop (better than the Flip inserts, I think). They are easy to stuff and they separate on their own in the wash! These are a great and inexpensive way to expand your CD choices. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Karen on Friday 18 December, 2009 These are the perfect solution for us! My daughter is growing out of her BumGenius one-sized pocket diapers, but the inserts still work really well. I bought a bunch of these insert socks and am able to still use the inserts with a larger diaper cover. The insert socks are perfectly sized for use with BumGenius inserts and are actually easier to stuff than the pocket diapers. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Kelly on Monday 31 August, 2009 We use these socks in a variety of ways. They've stretched the life of some prefolds that are close to falling apart. We stuff all of the socks we have with one of our old prefolds (folded in thirds and then folded over at the end), and then stack them in a drawer so that we can stuff them in a Bumkins cover quickly for diaper changes. Because they wick away moisture, they have the added bonus of keeping the cover from getting stinky, so we can use it several more times before washing it. I do not know how well these works with other types of diaper covers, but they are great with Bumkins. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Erica on Monday 22 June, 2009 These are AWESOME!!! I have been wanting to try these in hopes of allowing me to use PF's w/dd, in addition to our other dipes to help me not to have to wash so frequently. I stuff an insert sock w/ a OS BG insert & my DD who used to have to be changed every 30-45 minutes because she'd peed through her PF that fast, now goes 2-3 HOURS... and the PF is usually only damp, whereas before it was soggy after 30-45 mins!!! I can even let her go coverless during the day when she is crawling around (not sleeping though... I am not that brave), which we both love!! I also love that she gets a stay dry feel & that the insert sock protects her skin from the microfiber insert, which should never be placed directly against a baby's skin, but I was afraid would happen if I tried to just use a MF insert alone w/my PF because my DD is so wiggly & active. I used to have to lay a fleece liner in the PF for the stay dry effect, but it would get twisted up & poop would slide under it... YUCK!!! The insert & sock stay in place & provide superior absorbency, while keeping a stay-dry feel. These are FANTASTIC!!! Rating: [3 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Bethany on Saturday 06 June, 2009 Never could get these to work for me. Tried stuffing them but they were too bulky and really didn't look like they were comfortable to me. Tried lying them inside the prefolds but the part that was on the sides still got wet. Guess if I had thinner more absorbent inserts these would work but they are a no go for me with prefolds. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Karen on Wednesday 22 April, 2009 I love these with the microfiber inserts! We have been cloth diapering part-time at home since my son was born (his daycare will absolutely not do cloth), and he's now one year old. These work great with prorap diaper covers for weekends and evenings. I usually use the BG 3.0 one-size for overnight (also great!), but these have also worked overnight with no leaks! They're a good way to expand your stash at low cost.
These look huge, but with fast-growing babies, are actually perfect. When my son was smaller, we just folded it in the front to absorb more urine. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Jennifer on Friday 27 March, 2009 I love these socks! I purchased them for an overnight solution when my daughter was 12 mo. old. I simply fold an infant prefold in thirds, lay two hemp doublers on it and stuff them all into the sock. Then I lay the sock on a bummis whisper wrap. My daughter just turned 2 and we're still using these at night. We've never experienced a single leak.. that is saying a lot since she is a very heavy wetter! Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Dashawne on Friday 27 February, 2009 I am new to CDing my 15mth old. I am happy with my pocket diapers, but not used to changing diapers every 2 hours to avoid leaks (per manufacturers instructions). I tried BG OneSize inserts and then these socks to extend wear time. I am SOOO pleased. They extend the wear time of my microfiber inserts inside of a pocket diaper by 1 to 2 hours. Inside of a Bummis or Thirsties diaper cover, this sock helps my microfiber inserts last through the night and into the morning. Besides keeping baby's bottom dry, I get NO WICKING on the front and between the legs of my diaper covers and pocket diapers with very little bulk added. I think a product like this takes away any advantage disposables may have had for wear time. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Jeanne on Sunday 22 February, 2009 These are great, though it seems ridiculous to put a diaper inside them. We place them over the Birdseye Flats we have and they keep our baby dry during Metro rides and naps. Rating: [3 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Hillary on Sunday 01 February, 2009 I was excited about these, for daycare especially, since they're not 100% behind dealing with cloth. But I find that my daughter is often damp on the sides/backside when wearing these. I think the reason is that I usually fan out the back half of her prefold so that it covers the whole back half of the diaper cover --that approach seems to make the diaper last longer. I think more pee is directly hitting the cover when I keep the whole thing folded, which you obviously must do with the sock. So while I think this sock does everything else it's supposed to do, it means changing her sooner, so that doesn't help. I may have to price countoured diapers. Rating: [4 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Kimberly on Friday 30 January, 2009 I like these quite a bit. To me, they aren't as good as having a real pocket diaper (we're totally hooked on bumGenius 3.0's...) but if you've already got diaper covers, then these are a terrific accessory to use with your prefolds or other diaper inserts or absorbent material. The only thing for us is that these do seem to let some leaks through sometimes, and I can't figure out why, but with no other cloth diapering system that we use do we have troubles. But they keep the moisture away from baby's bottom and for that they get 4 out of 5 stars! :) View all 38 reviews |
