My son wore his maybe 3 times before 2 snaps were off. It's still under warranty but I have to pay shipping. It's over priced as it is. Also, it's a design flaw so replacing the snaps won't keep it from happening next time he wears them.
Another issue is that the flap in the back is so long it gets pooped on every time. You can't really just switch liners i there's an accident. You'll hav to wash h whole thing. My daughter is 2, only weighs 27lbs and still wears 24month pants, so I know she is not too big for them. I also have 2 others that are much older, which I received from another friend who had used them with her two girls. On the OLD ones, which have been used for close to 2 years, all of the snaps are perfectly fine. Since the newer ones were a gift (from someone who how has since moved to Europe), I do not have a receipt. Customer services said they'd replace the snaps (which I can do myself, so why pay shipping to have them do it?). A crappy quality product backed by equally insufficient customer service. I have cloth diapered both my girls with BG products and easily have over a $1000 worth of merchandise from them. I'm sad to say, I will think long and hard before purchasing anything from them again and I certainly will not be recommending this product! Rating: [4 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Tricia on Saturday 19 January, 2013 I bought only the shell, because I diaper with the flip system and have almost 100 of those inserts not to mention some prefolds and flats. Everything seems to fit and work just fine inside the trainer shell. Even without the velcro everything stays in place ok. If it really bothers me I might buy some velcro and sew it to some of my inserts. So far - not bothersome enough to be worth the effort.
I bought this for my 7 year old daughter who still wets almost every night. She is just now becoming aware (after summer camp) that wearing a "diaper" at night is not cool. And I was long tired of pullups. Every training pant I tried before either got disgusting, because the absorbent material was sewn to the waterproofing and grown up pee really gets it smelling foul, or was woefully inadequate when it came to absorbing and stopping leaks.
I bought the lovelace pattern and she loved them. I bought the disposable inserts for her to take to camp and she is very relieved to have a "nighttime underwear" to take to camp.
We've been using them a couple weeks. Note - we already don't allow liquids after dinner and she goes to the bathroom right before bed to minimize whatever mess may occur. So far - my flip microfiber inserts seem to do an ok job. Some nights I wish I had put a doubler in there, because some wetness has gotten on her pjs and sheet. But it is a small amount that can be easily managed. I have noticed that she seems to wet much less often. I don't know if the feel of it wakes her up or what. I haven't used the disposable one yet.
My only complaint (which is really more of a beg) is that these BARELY fit her. PLEASE PLEASE make larger side panels Cottonbabies!! Otherwise I am going to have to brush up on my sewing skills, which aren't that good to begin with. Rating: [3 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Leah on Wednesday 05 September, 2012 Cotton Babies Verified Purchase I agree that at the time it was unclear that the inserts were separate since there was no "kit" then. I figured they were separate based on pricing, but I also thought my existing stay-dry inserts would be compatible. Booo Cottonbabies for making us rebuy the system.
I think the shell is the same high quality I've come to expect with flip, but even the smallest setting is a little saggy on my nearly 2yo. I tried the shell out with the smaller inserts from my BGs since they hook the velcro. However, it's not easy to incorporate poop liners which we always use because baby doesn't keep to a poop schedule. This would probably be a good system for use once baby is already having some successes with potty training, but by then, I'll have found something else.
The flip trainer isn't the easy transition I thought it would be. I'll look around for other products and may bite the bullet and get a 3 pack of inserts to try out, but I'm not really optimistic for version 1.0. CB does make great strides without even advertising them sometimes, so make sure you read current reviews. Rating: [1 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Sarah on Saturday 11 August, 2012 Cotton Babies Verified Purchase i feel like i didn't receive what I was told I would be getting based on the product description of this training diaper. There's nothing in the product desciption that says the pads are sold separately. I'm upset that I have to pay twice the amount of the diaper to get pads to go with it. View all 5 reviews |
