Yes, the poop does get on the liner so the entire diaper does need to be changed most of the time with a bm, but with a wet diaper, I just change the insert. These are affordable clothe diapers and I love how we NEVER have leaks! My son leaked through almost every night when we used disposable, but now that we are using Flip diapers, he never does. I do double up with a regular cloth diaper under the insert which does the trick! I recommend them to anyone! Rating:  [2 of 5 Stars!]

Cotton Babies Verified Purchase So far I am not the biggest fan of the flip system. My baby is 6 weeks. I may be doing something wrong, but her poop does not stay on the liner. The liner is not wide enough to go all the way to the leg openings and she always ends up with poop on leg opening. The flip system is working in that it keeps the poop and pee in but I still have to change the entire diaper each time she poops so it's not as beneficial as I thought. I have not had this problem with the disposable liners for flip however as it is wider then the reusable. Hopefully as my daughter gets older and her poop more solid we will not have this problem. So far these are a last resort and I use my 4.0 or all in ones first Rating:  [4 of 5 Stars!]

My boy is a heavy wetter and I find 2 things- these shift more than I want so if he doesn't pee straight on, he leaks out the side and 2) that he gets lint in his bat wings from the microfiber. They're trim though! I like them better 'backwards' terry side up. They are a breeze to wash and dry which is a huge plus and I think these are a great 'around the house' diaper. For my $ the flip cover with the nighttime/organic insert is the way to go or, an unbleached Indian cotton prefold! Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!]

Cotton Babies Verified Purchase These are our favorite of all the cloth diapers. We have been using them for 3 yrs now with 3 kids, and a stash of 30 covers and 60 inserts gets us through at least 2 solid days, sometimes longer--my 3yo is close to potty training but my 2yo and 7mo still use them exclusively. We were very excited to be able to totally refresh our stash during the Black Friday - Cyber Monday sale, and will be reselling our previous stash to another Mama in a few days who is very excited to be using Flips as well.
We have used bumGenius, prefolds with covers, and of course Flips, and Flips are by far our favorite. They are so easy to grab and go, and you don't have to spend an hour stuffing each time they come out of the wash (both of which things are really important when you're a busy mom of multiple littles!). Also, they are SUPER at keeping big messes IN. We hardly ever have poo anywhere other than inside the diaper, and, like I said, have been using Flips exclusively for 3 yrs. At night we double the stay dry inserts and almost never have leaks. We also almost never have rashes, and when we do, we do a strip cycle as part of our normal wash routine (See Cloth Diaper Basics link in bottom of left column here on CottonBabies.com) and things are back to normal. We just can't say enough good things about these diapers.
For the quality, price, ease of use and versatility, you definitely couldn't find a better diaper. Especially in this economy, where it's important to families to save as much as possible while providing the best care for their children, you definitely can't go wrong with Flips. Cotton Babies Verified Purchase LOVE the stay dry insert. Baby's skin stays dry and so does the cover for the most part. Wish i had usedvthe money spent on prefolds for more of these inserts. Cotton Babies Verified Purchase I like these inserts because they're stay-dry, and I enjoy using them for short periods of time throughout the day However, these inserts do not hold up well overnight. Cotton Babies Verified Purchase I really like these inserts for wet diapers only, but poo diapers always gets all over the Flip diaper cover and is quite a mess. The cover contains it, but it cannot be reused, so I use Indian prefolds with the Flip covers and do not have any problems with wet or poo diapers. Rating: [3 of 5 Stars!]

Cotton Babies Verified Purchase I wasn't sure I would like these at first, but they really stay in place pretty well. They are a little bulky when they have to be folded down. Not only are the microfiber inserts amazing and keep my baby girls bum dry, but the cotton babies company has provided excellent service to this cloth mom in Michigan with out a store to buy cloth diapers near by. Cotton Babies Verified Purchase I've been using Econobum prefolds and decided to give the Flip inserts a try. I am really impressed with these. Both sides are soft and I actually didn't know which side was up. Turns out, the softest, terry side stays down and the smooth side is up.
