I got the bee for my daughter's big Christmas present, and I have to admit I was disappointed in her lack of interest with the toy. Sure, she pushed it around and played with the antennas, but it was difficult for her to ride. We got the small, and it really seemed that she was already to big for it at 18 months. However, we moved into a house with lots of hard flooring, and now at 26 months, she ZOOMs all over! She loves the mobility it provides and shouts "Wheely Bee" as she flies around! Her friends of similar ages also do well on it. I would recommend this toy to anyone! In fact, we are already discussing the purchase of a second Wheely Bug for baby #2!
The Wheely Bug is an awesome toy!! We ordered the large for our almost 1 year old for her birthday (LARGE per review suggestions on other websites because the small is said to be very small). I'm glad I did because it is small enough for her to play with now but not so small she'll outgrow it quickly. (She's 28", 23 lbs. if that provides some reference.) I put this away for her birthday but she did have a peek at it and went straight for the antennas! I think she'll have a blast with this on our hardwoods - it glides easily and swivels in all directions. The seat is nicely padded as is the handle, and the base is a smooth wood. It's fairly light weight so easy for little ones to move but yet it is very sturdy. It is "heirloom toy" quality. I can't wait for her to buzz around on the floors soon! :)
