Kidco, Inc. PeaPod - Red Reviews (4) Write Review Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Brooke on Wednesday 24 June, 2009We purchased the peapod since we travel a ton with our 4-month old. This is by far the most used product during our travels. It fits in a carry-on suitcase and is easy to put together. You can zip it up so the baby is safe in there whether they are playing or sleeping. We take it to the beach or just have our daughter sleep in it at night. SO much easier than the pack and play.
The only limitation is when the baby gets about 1 it is a bit small. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Santella on Friday 05 June, 2009 We LOVED this for our trip to the beach this year. The inflatable mattress was wonderful. Our 12 month old even slept in this at night. She liked having her own little "place" Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Rosanna on Friday 05 June, 2009 LOVE this travel bed! A MUST for all those who often find themselves away from home.
We have had this one for a year and the smaller version for two years and have used them both extensively! We've used it at the beach, on camping trips (inside our tent), in hotel rooms, set it up in the back of the truck (NOT while on the move!). Even fitted the smaller one in the suitcase for a trip home to England!
Just a few of the benefits;
lightweight
quick and easy set-up
very portable
degree of sun, wind, & bug protection
flaps to hide distractions
provides a familiar place for child to sleep
Our son LOVES his travel bed ... and sleeps so happily in it! I would recommend doing trial runs in it at home before taking it out on an adventure, just to build comfort and familiarity.
Worth EVERY penny! Rating: [5 of 5 Stars!] Reviewed by Amy on Friday 05 June, 2009 I love this thing! We have taken ours everywhere hotels, grandmas, the backyard, etc and it is so light and portable- It gets the job done without me having to lug around an awkward pack and play. My oldest played in it when he was 2 and slept in it on trips. My youngest figured out how to scoot aound really early and I liked that I could "zip" him in for nap time or a quick play time and know that he would be safe if I needed to take a shower or something when we were staying at someone else's non-babyproofed home. Now they both play in it in the backyard while I am doing chores and they take turns sleeping in it when we go to grandmas.
I read a bunch of reviews before I ordered it and I must say it really does everything it promises to do. Some people had problems folding it, but it is really simple if you read the quick directions.
The storage/tote bag has extra room for the special pillow and bear, pjs, and a book or two. I didn't care for the sleeping bag very much (my kids love it, but as with most children's sleep bags, it is mostly polyester). I wish it was cotton or something more breathable, but they think it looks so cool they don't mind. And the poly catches any nighttime leaks better than cotton would. (The tent floor wipes clean easily).
The mattress is kind of neat- oh it reeks like vinyl upon opening the package so you will want to air it out. I like knowing my kids don't have to sleep directly on the floor and the mattress is sturdy-my oldest uses it as a landing pad for sprints and leaps when he is not supposed to be jumping on grandma's furniture.
It doesn't take very long to set up, maybe just a few minutes to get the air mattress full and in place. It is easy to store and very small (we hang ours up in the boy's room so it is all ready whenever we want to make a quick trip). It would make an awesome gift for a traveling family or a practical addition to grandma's house. View all 4 reviews |
