As children are different, so are their diaper absorbency needs.  Pocket diapers enable you to customize the absorbency of your baby's diaper by using a variety of inserts. Most pocket diapers come with a microfiber insert included.  To boost a diaper's absorbency or provide a trimmer fit, some parents like to choose from a few insert options.

Microfiber inserts are the mainstay choice of parents. Our best selling insert is the bumGenius One-Size Microfiber Insert. The soft cushiness of this insert makes it a favorite choice for baby bottoms everywhere!  Use one insert during the day.  As your baby gets older, it's easy to layer these with other products for overnight.

Bamboo (from rayon) inserts are plush like microfiber inserts.  Bamboo fiber is sourced from bamboo plants, a more renewable resource than other options. Fluid disperses quickly in microfiber and bamboo making them a good "top layer" when using multiple inserts.

Organic cotton and hemp inserts are more absorbent than microfiber or bamboo. Cotton and hemp will retain moisture under pressure better than microfiber or bamboo.  Hemp inserts will be more absorbent than equally sized cotton inserts. When diapering an older baby, cotton or hemp inserts are great for overnights.

Hemp Babies products are uniquely designed to provide maximum absorbency, quick drying time and a great fit for a wide variety of babies. Made of organic cotton and natural hemp, these hemp inserts provide the ultimate in natural fiber absorbency (up to 8 times the absorbency of cotton) and can be used as a diaper inside a regular diaper cover or as an insert inside a pocket diaper.

Disposable inserts can be used as a thin overnight booster or to ease the process of traveling with cloth diapers.

Remember, less bulk makes for a more comfortable baby. More absorbency keeps that baby dry longer.
