When was the last time you were confronted with someone else’s need?  What was your response?  There will always be someone who needs aid of some kind, but it is vital that we each do our part.  When we feel the little tug on our insides to step out from our comfort zone, let’s all reach out and do what we can to help.  Speaking of needs, and in lieu of Diaper Need Awareness Week, we want to spotlight this prevalent issue right here in our own nation. Diaper need is a silent epidemic in the United States. According to a

This week is Diaper Need Awareness Week. To help more people learn more about this silent epidemic, Cotton Babies Share the Love is working to spread the word about diaper need and its devastating effects.   According to a recent study by Huggies, one in three families are forced to choose between everyday essentials and diapers. Many families cannot afford to purchase clean diapers and often resort to reusing disposables, which can lead to a number of heartbreaking issues like a rash, infection or emotional distress. Since there are few federal programs that provide assistance with diapers, we want to ensure that more

Editor’s Note: This content was kindly (and voluntarily) shared with us by a Share the Love recipient. When I applied for a cloth diaper loan through Share the Love, I was 43 years old and 30 weeks pregnant with my fourth child, who had just been diagnosed with Down Syndrome. I am a housewife/stay-at-home mother who also cares for my husband’s 86-year-old grandmother that lives with us. My husband had been unemployed for four months, having worked part-time before then, and just received a 4-month trucking job. Needless to say, we have truly been struggling financially since fall 2013, but by scaling

‘Tis the season for giving. The holidays are a time for joy, celebration and compassion. For many families, it’s a chance to shower your loved ones with all their favorite goodies, but for those who are less fortunate, the holidays can be extremely stressful — and unaffordable.   Today, many families struggle to pay for diapers and other basic necessities like food and utilities. Share the Love was created to help these families — all year round. It’s a locally-sustainable, nationally-accessible cloth diaper bank that provides families with cloth diapers. This program enables low income families with reusable diapers, which

2014 has flown by, and people are already beginning to plan and set goals for the new year. As we wrap up the last few months of 2014, Share the Love is also creating new goals, but there’s one we really want to accomplish before 2015: expand our program to all 50 states! Doing so would allow this program to start a new year on the right foot while also helping more families in need. Since it was launched in 2012, Share the Love has grown tremendously, but there are still opportunities to open a host site in many communities. We need your

Share the Love has hosts throughout the U.S. that are working hard and volunteering to help families who are struggling to diaper their babies.  For years, many families have wondered how they are going to afford disposables and resorted to reusing dirty diapers when their options ran out. With no government-sponsored programs that assist with diapers, something as simple as covering their baby’s bottom has become a huge stress and burden. Currently there are 112 Share the Love host sites in 43 states and Puerto Rico and this program is always expanding to help more families in need. If you have extra

What is Share the Love? Share the Love is a non-profit program that distributes local resources to nearby families in need. Moms Helping Other Moms

A few days ago several of my friends posted a slideshow of moms supporting other moms on Facebook. The point of the slideshow, at least what I got out of it, was that we should all support each other regardless of the differences in our parenting choices and experiences. What really struck me is that, in my role as Share the Love Program Coordinator, I see this every day. We have an amazing network of moms who, without judgement, just want to help other moms. Out of kindness and love, Share the Love hosts from all over the country with a
