Real Mom Talk: Reusable Products

There are so many reusable products out there! Of course, my favorite would have to be cloth diapers, but I like so many others too! Reusable products help cut down on waste, save money, and can come in some cute designs and colors that throw away products don’t. Reusable sandwich bags – My husband packs his lunch almost daily. Sandwiches, chips, snacks… it really adds up. He could take up to 5 plastic bags a day. And then, they just get thrown in the trash! Who wants to literally throw money away on a daily basis? Sure, it’s only a few pennies.

It was easy, simple, and got rid of everything at once. Once we transitioned to cloth diapers, we were separating the disposable wipes from the cloth diaper to throw the wipes away. It felt… odd. I had to go to two different places in my house to get rid of the waste, sometimes I’d end up with poop on my hand, and I was still creating trash. Switching to cloth

BLOG_Cloth101_canIaffordtocd

Can I afford to cloth diaper? If you can afford to purchase disposable diapers each week, then yes, you can definitely afford to cloth diaper. One of the most common things I hear from parents who are considering cloth diapers is “I can’t afford it.” But when I listen to someone say that particular phrase, all I hear is, “I can’t afford cloth diapers right now.” One of the biggest misconceptions about cloth diapers is that you need to purchase a huge stash of five dozen diapers upfront. This isn’t true. What you do need to purchase is enough cloth
