Cloth diapers are a great way to save money and reduce waste. If you’re interested in joining the tiny house movement, cloth diapers just make sense. In addition to reducing household waste, you will also save your family as much as $1200 over the cost of purchasing disposables. It’s possible to add even more to your savings when you resell your diaper stash after your baby potty trains. On top of waste prevention and money savings, using cloth diapers means that you’ll always have enough diapers! Here are a few tip on how to go tiny & cloth. How many do

How to cloth diaper at night

Cloth Diaper Creams

Cloth diapering your little one from an early age often makes it easy to cloth diaper at night. Many infants don’t sleep through the night early on, so it’s easy to just change your little one’s diaper before a  mid-night feeding. Once they get a little older and start sleeping through the night, it an be a bit of a challenge to cloth diaper at night. If you use bumGenius 4.0 or other pocket style cloth diapers, the first solution is to add extra inserts into the pocket to increase the absorbency of your cloth diaper. A good first step

aden + anais Adult Blanket
March 22, 2013 2:30 pm | by

If you’ve been following our blog for any real amount of time, you already know how much I enjoy aden + anais products. I own a set of Bamboo Muslin Wraps that are exclusively mine that I wear as scarves and use when traveling. A big jar of mum + bub Soothing Ointment sits on my bedside table. The B-Jeweled Muslin Wraps are the only thing that makes me smile when found scattered on my floor by the children. So take the following review with a grain (or whole shaker full) of salt. For a long time I’ve joked around

Tuesday Giveaway: The NEW bumGenius Elemental
March 5, 2013 3:35 pm | by

We have a little joke around the Cotton Babies office that once you try a bumGenius Elemental cloth diaper, you’ll never go back to the style of cloth diaper you previously used. While it’s not 100% accurate, we find that for a lot of cloth diapering parents, the bumGenius Elemental is their favorite diaper.   Why do they love it so much? There are so many reasons! Some like the organic cotton inside and that it is very absorbent. Many love the fact that it’s an all-in-one style cloth diaper, so you don’t have to stuff it after you wash

Winter First Foods
January 30, 2013 10:30 am | by

My first three boys were all born in the spring or early summer, which meant that they were ready to start eating solid foods as fall turned into winter. This is, in my humble and decidedly non-medical opinion, the best time of year to start on solids. Why? Well because squash* and sweet potatoes are in season! Technically, we are currently just past the peak season for these veggies, but you can still find fresh and flavorful squash and sweet potatoes in the stores and at some farmer’s markets (depending on where you live). I think they make great first

Tuesday Giveaway: Just the basics!
July 10, 2012 10:15 am | by

I don’t know about you, but the heat of summer makes me drop back to just the basics of life. Simplifying chores, spending evenings on the porch with a tall glass of water, letting the kids play in the sprinkler in the yard and more. Maybe the heat even affects your cloth diapering routine? Many customers tell us that when the hot days of summer arrive, they like to let their little ones run around in a classic prefold cloth diaper without a cover whenever possible. For today’s giveaway, our prize package includes some of our favorite Cotton Babies basics:

Cloth Diapers 101: Air drying indoors
April 9, 2012 3:05 pm | by

As much as I love hanging my diaper covers out in the sunshine to remove stains and stink, the fact is that it’s just not always possible. Sometimes the weather doesn’t cooperate, especially during spring rains. Other times, I have just waited too long to do laundry and end up completing a load of diapers at 10 p.m. when there is no sun in sight! Rather than tossing the covers in the dryer, I choose to preserve the life of the PUL material in my diapers by making sure to air dry every time. Even when it’s not possible to
