bum giv’n genius: Haiti Medical Mission
February 9, 2010 6:32 pm | by

Thank you!

With your help, we raised a lot of money over the holidays for Sheltering Wings’ Orphanage in Burkina Faso, West Africa. Cotton Babies was able to match your generous donations!

From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU!

Help Haiti Relief Efforts
We are now turning our bum giv’n genius focus to the relief efforts in Haiti through Service International, an organization that provides relief to disaster areas in need with the goal of complete, long-term recovery. On February 15, a team of 4 doctors, 6 nurses and 3 support staff are going to help with the medical relief efforts in Haiti.

The team will be working at St. Nicolas hospital in St. Marc which is about 50 miles north of Port au Prince. St. Marc is also quickly becoming a refugee destination for many from Port au Prince.

There are two ways to help this medical mission:
1. Give Medical Supplies
Here is a list of the items Service International is looking for:

Aspirin
Crutches
Glucometer and a lot of strips and dipsticks
Long Razor Blade – derma tum blade
Insulin – regular and long acting
Heparin
Bootee shoe covers
Insulin syringes
Providoine

To donate any of these items, contact Service International directly at (636) 532-9008 or info@serviceinternational.org.

2. Give Financially
Cotton Babies is teaming with them to help relieve some of the financial burden and we wanted to open this opportunity to our faithful customers.

Click here to make a donation – no gift is too big or too small. 100% of your donation will go directly to Service International.

It’s been a month since the earthquake – over 2 million desperately need of food assistance. They have no homes, no jobs, no food. The World Food Programme was there before the quake, and they’ll be there afterwards helping to rebuild lives. If you want to help you should go to: http://wfp.org/crisis/haiti or text FRIENDS to 90999 to make a $5 donation
