No more big trips until after our new little man joins us- I’m excited to spend 3 uninterrupted days with my big girl- taking her to a baseball game Saturday, a cook out on Sunday so Daddy can see his friends (he needs it!), and fireworks and music for the 4th. The BG t-shirts would be so cute to celebrate next year- Mommy is into green frogs and Daddy likes dragonflies- can’t go wrong.

We will be grilling out with friends and then heading out to the lake just outside our South Carolina town to watch the fireworks over the water. Last year our little girl was a little to young to appreciate fireworks (4 months), but I know she is going to go crazy this year at 16 months! So excited to get her dressed up in her 4th of July outfit complete with a stars/stripes hairbow!

My 2 year old son LOVES things that make loud noises (and loves imitating them lol) and has been absolutely fascinated by fireworks the last couple times he’s seen them, so I’m sure he will have a blast watching them again this year. It will be my 8 month old daughter’s first 4th of July and I think she will really enjoy watching them too since she is so fascinated with her surroundings right now… However, a little concerned about the noise for her, as she startles easily. 😉 We may watch them from indoors as I think Daddy has to work anyway and we only have one vehicle. But both my kids will be sporting a Flip or bumGenius diaper in pink, white or blue! 🙂

So Gracie will have a playmate here. The girls are even wearing matching outfits and headbands I made them. Sunday is the church picnic – where she will be the oldest of 5(!) babies in our church family. We’ll be having hamburgers and apple pie and playing games.

Monday, we’ll have a neighborhood barbecue, watch the illegal firework show and play with the most legal fireworks. (Our neighbors go to Mexico frequently, and bring back bottle rockets. They’re also very careful about them and fire really isn’t a hazard here. There aren’t any legal shows planned because its usually too foggy. Our illegal show often will slide a day or two in either direction depending on the fog.)

Hubby has to work the 4th (how friggin crappy is that!) ten we have a party w friends that night and he’ll play with fireworks. this will be DD2’s first 4th and i’m excited to get to spend it with my best friend and her hubby that’s my hubby’s best friend as well! i will dress DD2 in red and white outfits and show off her white dipes underneath. and the moonbeam ones if the ourfit has blue in it. right now i’m planning on the ladybug outfits she has. DD1 will wear an outfit from Family Dollar that is red and white on the top with an appliqued flower and dark blue denim shorts. DS will wear a red shirt and blue shorts, probably his new “keen” aka McQueen shirt he got for his b-day. if i get lazy he’ll just wear a red diaper cover on the bottom over his flat. the kiddos will play in the water and make a huge mess and we have simple squirt guns to have a water fight with! it’s gonna be a blast!

This is our daughter’s first 4th of July celebration (she’s 8 mo. old)! She’ll be participating in the local parade, camping out at the lake with Grandma & Grandpa, attending a big block party, and watching the fireworks for the very first time, all while wearing her cute BG AIO One Size Diapers!!! We are so excited to celebrate with her, and to see the joy on her little face when she experiences all these firsts!

For the weekend we have big plans. First, Friday night we will all be going to a Rodney Atkins concert at the water park. My 2.5 year old and 17 month old just love going to concerts there because it is an open field and they can dance and sing and then go cool down in the water afterwards. For the weekend we will be cooking out with family and watching a fireworks show on the lake.

Not sure what we’ll be doing as yet. Right now, the littlest one is getting over a bad bug from this past weekend. Until I’m sure he’s better, I’m not really making plans. It may just be his first cookout, while his big sister gets her first time in the inflatable pool.

Our son had his first 4th last year when he was 3 weeks old. This year he will get to experience it more. We go visit my husbands family and are invited out to LIberty Lake with them. The whole community around the like chips in to put on a stage firework show, they also have a children’s parade with decorated radio flyer wagons and the entire Lake becomes one large block party. It’s always a lot of fun.

At this point I don’t know that it will be a long weekend! I may have to work on the 4th if my request for the day off is turned down! But regardless, we will be watching the fireworks (I work graveyards so at least we will get to do that!). If I don’t have to work, then we will more than likely go to my in laws and pop some fireworks there and BBQ. DD loves fireworks! Hopefully now that she’s older the popping sound won’t all of a sudden scare her because lately she’s been ‘scared’ of loud noises!

We’ll definitely have to deck out our little one’s stroller to coordinate. Then the plan is a late nap so we can stay up for fireworks and catching fireflies. Ahhh summer!

This 4th of July we’ll visit my husband’s family 2.5 hours away whom we haven’t seen since March due to gas prices and everyone being strapped for cash. Silas (14 m) will see his first set of fireworks and we’ll see if they agree with him or not. He’ll also get to play with his cousins who are a year older than him while I get to love on my sister’s littlest (4m). We’ll BBQ at DH’s Mom’s house, then the family will go to the fireworks stand and buy fireworks (still legal in Texas!) and DH’s step-dad will light them off so the kids can watch.

We are traveling to our home town where my husband and I both grew up. This will be our first family vacation in a long time! I am so excited to show my kids some of the places and things that I loved growing up! While we are there my husband and I will be celebrating our 12th wedding anniversary! We are also traveling with cloth diapers for the first time. I recently asked my husband if we should travel with cloth diapers and his response was “Well what else would we do?” I loved that response!

    Happy Independence Day everyone!!

We will be having a quite 4th this year most our family is visiting DC, but we are steering clear of the giant crowd with the wee ones. This Fourth of July weekend will be a mixed bag. My mother just had a hip replacement and will be released from rehab, so part of that weekend will be spent making sure she gets along okay at home. I also turn 40 tomorrow, but have to put the celebration on hold until the weekend when Mom is home. Thankfully she lives right on the water, at the mouth of the Chesapeake, so we will have a fantastic view of our city’s fireworks.

We’d love to win the t-shirt and diaper contest. I am constantly getting comments and questions about Cam’s diapers, and I love spreading the word…the t-shirt would help! We are also getting licensed to do foster care of babies 0-2, so I need to start plumping up my stash!

We took our July 4th holiday early as I will be starting some long hours as a medical resident on July 1st and working straight through the holiday weekend…. but this last weekend we went out to Ian’s first bed and breakfast in the countryside where he got to see horses, goats, cows and a giant brilliant full rainbow 🙂 Also, to make up for me being away this weekend, we have both of Ian’s grandmothers in town! One of his grandmothers loves dragonflies AND bumgenius diapers, so she would really love for him to win this week’s giveaway! We constantly hear about how “if only we’d had diapers like these when you were a baby!” 🙂
