Free Cloth Diaper Week: Groceries
September 8, 2010 10:51 am | by

It’s day two of Free Cloth Diaper Week. Yesterday’s winner of the Flip Stay Dry diaper was Sarah Ann Tielke. She said her most indispensable baby product was:

“My husband! And my camera. My daughter is due this Saturday but so far these two have been lifesavers! My husband has been so supportive and helpful and my camera helps me document everything!”

We’re continuing the fun today. Same rules as yesterday, we’ll post a question here on the blog, on Facebook and Twitter. We’ll give you an hour to respond. One random winner will be selected from the responses to receive a free Cotton Babies manufactured product. Prizes may include a BumGenius 4.0, Flip or an Econobum diaper.

Today’s first prize will be 6 #free bumGenius Elemental Cloth Diapers. We want to know, where do you buy your groceries? We love Whole Foods Market and Soulard Market. You have one hour to respond – Go!

I love Whole Foods and loved Trader Joe’s when I lived in St. Louis. Fortunately one is coming to Omaha next month. We also hit up the farmer’s markets during the summer and go to Target regularly as well.

I love getting our produce from our local farm. We have signed up for their Community Supported Agriculture program (CSA). Through this program we get a huge basket of fruits and veggies… all of them locally grown, organic and in season. I love it. We get to try fun new produce I normally wouldn’t think to buy… and I don’t have to make a shopping list… and we save money. Plus we support our local farm. So Fun!

Best prices around here are on base, at the commissary! The farmers market is lacking, but during june and july they do have great tomatoes and peaches.

Due to our family’s eating habits, food allergies, and budget, we frequent Aldi, Schnucks, Soulard market, another local farmer’s market, and our local butcher store. We shop around! And let’s face it, going to Soulard doubles as family-friendly entertainment, if we buy a few hotdogs at the stand and go to the neighboring park to play for awhile!

We love to eat, and we love to shop. Win-Win!

(PS, i heart the elemental diapers!)

We usually buy groceries at Walmart since it is only about 2 minutes away, but I’m going to try to go to our local farmer’s market every once in awhile for healthier options. That’s about 30 minutes away though 🙁 Publix is also good when we have coupons!

My husband works at Walmart, so we shop there and get a nice little discount. Plus we live right next door, with two more locations within a 15 minute drive!

Trader Joe’s is my favorite, but I usually go to different markets depending on what’s on my list. I love Whole Foods for meat and hard to find produce, and Shaws and Stop & Shop for everyday groceries!

    Thanks for the chance!

  • Brooke said...

HEB and Wal-mart are really the only two main options around here, but since we are on such a tight budget I have started couponing and try my best to shop wherever the deals are. Sometimes that means Walgreens! On occasion I have gotten a couple of free items!
