Cotton Babies started out as a baby retailer selling baby slings. Then, our owner, Jenn Labit, went on to make her own cloth diaper inserts. In 2005, she created bumGenius cloth diapers. Since then, we’ve expanded our brands and make lots of (we think) cool products that help make life easier for parents and eliminate waste. Cotton Babies products have a focus on baby, but many can be used by the entire family. Here’s a breakdown of our evergrowing product assortment, the majority of which are made in the USA! bumGenius bumGenius is where it all started. These cloth diapers are
about us
One of the best parts about opening our manufacturing facilities in St. Louis, MO is seeing our ideas come to life. We’re constantly looking for ways to improve our cloth diapers and expand our product line to make life easier for parents. Our process all takes place under one roof – from the first idea for the product to the research, cut & sew manufacturing, marketing, and fulfillment. Did you know our cloth diapers are sewn in the USA? We’re so proud to offer

In honor of Valentine’s Day, we thought it would be fun to talk about what our employees love about Cotton Babies. Cotton Babies isn’t just a store and we don’t simply make cloth diapers. We’re changing things. Preserving the World for the Future Most of our employees are parents. As parents, many of us are concerned about the planet our children and grandchildren will inherit. We’re certainly not perfect, but it’s nice to know that for every baby that uses cloth diapers, 1 ton of garbage is kept out of a landfill. And we get to be a part of
The design team was tasked with coming up with new print concepts for our Cloth Diaper Collectors Club which ultimately became the Doodles Collection. While we love creating artwork to represent a particular person or group of people for the Genius Series, and learn a whole bunch doing so, we were excited to have the creative freedom to explore any topic we liked. As with any creative process, we started brainstorming ideas, taking inspiration from our pets, internet memes, and windowsill gardens, then took those ideas to some initial sketches. Step 1 – Sketch Every designer approaches pattern-making differently based
With all this talk about Play, our newest Genius Series print, I’ve been thinking about my favorite baby toys. Oh, what fun! Kleynimals Stainless Steel Toy Keys. More than your average toy keys, these feel and sound like real keys without the sharp edges. In my opinion, an heirloom toy. I’ve even heard of people having them engraved! Tegu Magnetic Blocks. Truly innovative, Tegu Magnetic Blocks are packed with fun. I keep a set in my purse for entertaining my toddler in restaurants. They’re fun for mom and dad to play with, too. Spin Again. Another favorite in my house.
Truly Genius Tuesday has been an epic ride so far. We have discovered all things genius in our Genius Series and even featured a couple more than one time. One of our favorite moments by far was when we gave away an actual pie on Pi Day! Cotton Babies is a place that loves to celebrate… and we love including delicious food in the mix. Side note: if you’re interested in some of the funny Behind The Scenes of Cotton Babies and want to see just how much we celebrate with food, follow @hashtagfreeworkfood on Instagram. I am extremely lucky to work at a company that goes out of its way to support mothers and families. At Cotton Babies, I get to bring my baby to work. Babies at work is easily the best perk I’ve ever had. Since returning to work, everyone asks me what it’s like. I came back to work when my baby, Tommy, was 8 weeks old. He is now 13 weeks old, and we are both adjusting to life in the office. Here, I’ll answer the questions I am most commonly asked. Where does the baby go? He’s with me most of
Maggie was revealed earlier today, and we’re in love… Not only with the print, itself, but also the genius, Maggie Lena Walker, who inspired it! Since it is Truly Genius Tuesday, We thought it would be fun to give you a bit of a behind-the-scenes look into our designer’s inspiration as she created Maggie. We want to share with you a little bit about the design behind Maggie, the latest addition to the Genius Series. To begin, there is something you may not already know about our prints that we believe makes them truly special… From Albert to Spence, Ballet to Accidental…
We are feeling the love this week! With the help of our generous customers, Cotton Babies is making a donation of over $14,686.56 from the sales of our limited edition Be Mine cloth diapers to The Children’s Heart Foundation (CHF), an organization dedicated to funding the most promising research to advance the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of Congenital Heart Defects. Be Mine was created in honor of a few special little members of our Facebook group, Cotton Babies: The Mob, who were born with Congenital Heart Defects (CHD). These little fighters and their families have been an inspiration to us. For our founder,
