Thursday Giveaway: Give a Gift
December 3, 2014 7:22 pm | by
stlsite-infographics-7‘Tis the season for giving. The holidays are a time for joy, celebration and compassion. For many families, it’s a chance to shower your loved ones with all their favorite goodies, but for those who are less fortunate, the holidays can be extremely stressful — and unaffordable.

Today, many families struggle to pay for diapers and other basic necessities like food and utilities. Share the Love was created to help these families — all year round. It’s a locally-sustainable, nationally-accessible cloth diaper bank that provides families with cloth diapers. This program enables low income families with reusable diapers, which puts money back into their budget and enables them to pay a bill or healthy food.

This holiday season, Share the Love wants to reach out and lend a caring hand to those who need it. You can too.

For this week’s giveaway, two people will win an Econobum Trial Pack for themselves and an additional set for a family in need. To enter, tell us why it’s important to give back.

For more information on Share the Love and what you can do to help, click here. If you are in need of assistance, please visit this page.

Thank you for your support.

I know how greatful I would be to get assistance if I really needed it, and that encourages me to give to others. Whether its money or time, even just giving a little can make such a difference.

I like the joy I feel within when giving to others and paying it forward. It is a noble and selfless act. There is no harm in giving onto others. I defiantly believe in “do unto others as you would have them do unto you”. I do not play with karma. If I have and someone does not, then I would not hesitate to give. This is a charitable act I would hope will rub off on others, specifically my children.

Giving back, helping those who need it, is what this world needs. more people being conscious of each other and the effect our actions have on others make a difference. especially when you are in need yourself. even if you dint ever need anything in return, sometimes it can make all the difference for that other person.

There are a ton of reasons why it’s important to give back. Primarily, because we live in the most abundant country in the world (the US) sometimes it’s easy to lose sight of how blessed we really are. It’s also important to set a good example for the next generation, that supporting those in need is an important part of being able to provide for yourself and your own family.

It is important to give back because you never know where life will take you. Though we always try to prepare for any possibility there is a possibility that we may fall on hard times. I try to give when I can and hope that others do the same. That way I know that I am helping someone out and if I should ever need help know that someone else can help me.

It is important to give back because there is always someone with less than you. Most people gripe they can’t afford to give, but it really doesn’t take much. A can of vegetables costs less than $1. You won’t feel that 1 can extra each week in your budget, but the 52 extra cans will help. If you truly don’t have the dollar donate your time. It really is the right thing to do.

Its important to give back because maybe your donation is the difference between dinner and medicine or heat.

Giving all comes back to God. He gave us all that we have and we’re so very blessed and we should share those blessings with those less fortunate. We have been super low income the whole time we’ve diapered. We had a point that I was so incredibly grateful for cloth because we had $100 for food and any other things we needed and had we been using disposable diapers we would not have eaten. We couldn’t qualify for any assistance because we made just barely too much…that’s how we got in that situation. We were students and made pennies per hour too much for Medicaid and our insurance found a loophole to not insure us at the time and we couldn’t reapply because pregnancy was a preexisting condition…fast forward and we were forced to pay the whole birth and complications (hyperemesis=IVs, medications, preterm labor so many L&D trips, medications, etc) on credit cards. Well when the interest came to a head they became maxed even though we always paid minimums and we found ourselves so grateful to be able to use the full $100 on food and soap and toilet paper. Because of this I decided that we are donating most of DD’s diapers as she grows out of them since she is our third and last baby. I’m so grateful we are able to do this. So far we have sent 3 stuffed boxes with covers, prefolds, newborn fitteds that I made, and small covers. She’s in one size diapers and a few medium and large woolies now. It makes me feel so good to be able to help moms that are in the situation of food or diapers that didn’t switch to cloth before that all comes to a head.

Because there are times when we all need a little help whether it be emotional, physical, etc. When we give, we are giving back for everything we are thankful for. To me, I give because of how thankful I am for our health and having each other.

Giving back is important because we all should remember we all need a hand sometime. Everyone deserves new things without judgment to make them feel special

Giving and sharing is an essential of creating “the village” we need to raise our children. Giving creates a safe, supportive, and healthy society for everyone!

I’ve been on the receiving end of help. Just asking is so hard. Now that I’m in the position to give back, how could I not? You never know when you will be the one who needs the help.

It’s important for me to give back because we’ve been in need before and received help when we weren’t expecting it. It’s a wonderful feeling when you know you’ve helped someone.

Its important to give because people deserve to be loved by one another, and giving time or thought to a person is a good way to show love.

Why is it important to give back?

We should all be in this together. If God has blessed me, I should use those blessings to help others!!

It is important to give back because you never know when your going to need help yourself. So often anymore people have to choose between feeding their family and buying new diapers. With cloth they are able to reuse diapers and not worry about if there is enough money in the bank to buy diapers at the end of the month. Two sets of diapers being donated to share the love is a huge thing especially with them trying to get donation centers in all fifty states. I love this give away and am so happy that Cotton Babies is doing this so that more families are able to have piece of mind over their money and their child’s bottom.

I am blessed to have the resources not to have the worry of where my next meal or other necessity is coming from, and to me, giving to those in need and lessening their burden is so important. It means so much to the recipient and feels so good to help out.

Would love to win!! I don’t have any family members will tiny babies but I would like to be able to donate to my local women’s shelter. Our womens shelter is filled to capacity with women and their children and cloth diapers aren’t big here. I blame that on them not being accessible.

It’s important to give back in order to remind everyone that there is still good in the world. To teach our children to be the change they want to see. And most importantly because everyone has went through a rough patch at some point in their lives, giving to those in need proves to them there is light at the end of the tunnel.

My son donated 9 of his diapers to our local share the love host that he outgrew for one of his Christmas activities! I think it is so important for him to understand that not every child is as lucky as he is.

It’s important to give back because people should help other people. It’s just the right thing to do. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
